718 battery charging
Good evening,
Today I made up and installed a custom charging harness, one that’s semi permanent and perhaps more reliable than the cigarette lighter type.
I modified the Porsche Ctek charger that came with our 2022 718 Spyder, I hope my video helps others considering this action.

Great job man!
thanks for sharing. I am about to do the same thing because the cig lighter thing is so bad and unconfortable.
Just one question. Why did you choose the ground car connection instead of the negative pole from the battery. ?
I mean why not to connect the negative in the same way as you did for the positive.?
ThanksMb

Thank you for the nice comment.
Today with modern vehicles, it’s not a good idea to use the battery negative post.
‘There’s a section in the manual that describes charging and lead placement, I decided to follow those directions since making a more permanent attachment.
I used good quality 16 gauge wire or even slightly heavy like 14 gauge would work.
I mentioned the spade connector on the ground, they being of a soft material will splay open easily when tightened. To overcome this I found a stainless washer and cut one side out, this was then slide around the bolt from the opposite angle.
Now both the electrical spade connector and washer are working in unison, as you tighten down the ground bolt there’s less chance for both to splay open.
Anyway I hope this helps.
