Default First Spy Pics of the All-Electric 718 Boxster

I posted this in the general 718 forum as well but just in case some of you don't venture into that forum - https://www.roadandtrack.com/news/a4...ter-spy-photos

It's real, and pretty far along in the prototype process based on these pics. Interesting mechanical changes but by no means a final design as this is an engineering prototype

Not quite as radical as the one concept.

Wouldn't put too much into the sheetmetal they're using on the prototype since this looks pretty early to be reflecting the overall final design. But there are some areas where items have been removed, like the iconic side scoops.

A lot of Taycan design influence, as expected. Looks pretty cool.

Nice "exhaust". On that note, I find it amazing that EVs don't have these amazing sound tracks to go with their motors. They can literally be made to sound like anything, and I am surprised they haven't been made to sound like spaceships accelerating to light speed. I mean, really...why the hell not?

The best part is the printed headlight over the new one. They must have a riot dressing up these mules. Is the back track wider, or is the eye deceived because the intake is gone?

Are we certain this is an electric based mule? From what I understood following the BMW group and their hybrid/electrification attempts over the years; in Europe for road-testing, any cars that are testing a hybrid or high-voltage electric powertrain must have certain stickers/indicators on the car for emergency services to identify. Maybe I'm remembering that wrong, or the regulations have since changed, but either way I don't see anything on this mule that looks like an electric identifier.

More mission R, less of whatever this is.

I'll put a big 'no' vote on that one. The car needs to sound like what it is, not what some hollywood sound engineer imagined it sounds like.

This looks to be the finished product. I'm ready to order one.

I thought it was going to look more like the Mission R, albeit more watered down.
