CGTS Front Grille Element - Anyone WRAP It ?
Curious to know if anyone has “wrapped” the front grille element on a CGTS or BGTS marked here in red. It’s black plastic and might look better body color, or perhaps wrapped in carbon fiber?

The early GTS 4.0 press cars had that painted to body colour. However it looks to be a single piece, unlike the current matte black part which is a separate part which clips into the painted bumper. Personally I prefer it black.

I had the spoiler lip painted on my 991.2 so I do not see why you could not do the same, whether it is one or three pieces.

I didn’t wrap mine and it got a chip, the good news is the black is all the way through the piece so it wasn’t a big deal.

Yeah, if it gets painted it also needs PPF when the paint cures.

I wrapped PPF on the entire front of my car (along with a lot of other areas), but wanted the element to remain matte. The place I use for PPF didn't have any matte SunTek PPF, and I would have had to buy a full new (very expensive) matte roll. So, they wrapped the element in glossy PPF, then put matte black vinyl wrap over that. Looks perfect, the matte wrap doesn't give the same protection as PPF , but it if gets torn up, easy to replace, and the original is protected by the underlying PPF.

Actually, I bought a well-equipped Boxster 25 Years in Late-August with the intention of removing all the Neodyme accents (for storage & personal preference reasons). Painted a new OEM Primed version in Satin Black and will do Xpel Stealth Wrap on top of that. Was tempted to just wrap the original Neodyme one Matte Black but figured removal of the wrap in the future could result in the Neodyme paint underneath lifting off.

Wait, are you guys telling me PPF will adhere to the black textured parts? Including the chin piece? My chin splitter is taking a beating with stone chips already and I was wondering what I could do about it. Same goes for the two pieces that run an angle.
How hard is it to replace those parts and have new ones installed with PPF?

I’m confused. I too am not sold on the black color and think it would look better body color (same as non GTS). It sounds like a) people have successfully wrapped that piece and b) the black portion of the front bumper may be a separate piece of the number which can be removed and painted.
I have been thinking of making mine carbon fiber.

I believe the lower black part - the chin spoiler - is attached with clips to the bottom of the bumper cover, and is available as a separate part.

I think the black piece should remain that color, like all of the other black bits on the car. In fact, the first image I saw of the Cayman GTS 4.0 was the Carmine tester shown above with that piece in Carmine. I didn't like it then in body color and still don't. There is a design language throughout the car on what gets body paint and what doesn't and deviations from that always look odd to me.

The Zunsport look good. I bought some for my car, but haven't had the chance to install them yet. Have owned the car for 5.5 weeks, 3.5 of which it has been stuck at the dealership awaiting back-ordered parts for a fuel leak. It was a really fun first 2 weeks of ownership though. 😕

$230 replacement part if owners are concerned about it. Replacement probable cheaper than painting or wrapping it
