Default GPF MY23-monitored for the US?

As the title says, does anyone know if the GPF in the American cars MY23 is monitored? That's an added step in case of that almost basic mod.
I expect it to be the same, unmonitored, but surprises happen.

do you mean monitored as in is it required to be there in order to pass smog like the catalytic converters? As far as I'm aware it is not a requirement for smog to pass in the US and was not present in the 981 models. I plan on removing mine.

Monitored as in if you remove you get a CEL or error, like European cars. I'm waiting for the car to arrive to make sure that's not the case and no hardware changes happened (I believe something like that happened in the begin of production).

I do not believe so even in this case. There are no sensors on the pipes themselves or in the OPFs. From the videos I've seen, when people swap to aftermarket OAP its just a straight swap with no extra sensors.

There has been no mention of 23MY US 718 GPFs being monitored.

Since the EPA has certified the 2023 718s you can review the technical document to see if there was a change.

If they became monitored it’d be in the docs as emissions equipment.

I'm thinking more in the lines that Porsche is doing that to their own volition, even if to curb OAPs. I believe there's a probe into the GOF on the monitored cars, it should be easy to see if they went with it for the US. I hope not, I want that out.

I don't think it will be, based on the manufacturer laziness and cheapness, but they did change one of the muffler's support mid 20 production. With obvious supply issues, a change in vendor is not out of the question which could render the aftermarket parts incompatible and that's nothing they would divulge as it's not an option.
Allegedly, some 23 models have been delivered to their owners, so it would be interesting to find that. My car has been postponed several times, it was supposed to be delivered 9/23, now looking at November.

2023s will start to be delivered this week. I'll have mine in a couple of weeks and will take a look if we don't have an answer. I wouldn't assume that anything has changed though.

Same here, but with supply issues, who knows. I'm holding back on buying aftermarket stuff, in case I keep the car.

For instance this note from Soul regarding the 718 4L muffler: "+ Fits all Porsche 718 GT4 / Spyder / GTS 4.0L vehicles (2020+) in North America. European vehicles use a different mounting style than North American vehicles. Contact us for a European conversion kit (at additional cost)."
Or this one from Akrapovic: "
Fitment notice: A modification of fitting brackets done by Porsche on 718 GT4/Spyder produced approximately after February 2020 was identified. Please turn to your Area sales manager for detailed explanation on differences in order to choose the appropriate exhaust for your car."

So let us know once you have the car. Weather is not an issue for you there. I'll be getting the car in time to store it or mount winter tires.
