Advice appreciated - GTS or GT4 or 992?
I've got a 991.2 GT3 manual. My wife and I are almost empty nesters and plan on doing a lot more HPDE and track day events - she wants to participate. She doesn't drive manual and doesn't want to learn (plus I shudder at the fact she'd blow a money downshift). Have been considering either a PDK GTS 4.0, GT4 or 992. Would be doing ~10 events a year, and this would be my daily driver all other times. Would a GT4 be too extreme to daily? I'm thinking a GTS 4.0 would be the perfect balance. Anyone daily with LWBS?

718 GT4 PDK
I have LWBS in my GT3 and Spyder - I think the question is what are you going to compromise on/for...
I personally would rule out the 992 and the GTS since they are not "track optimal" but would you put LWBS in either of those?
its got to be the GT4 - pop some 4-ways in it (if you must) and DD it...

I have a manual CGTS 4.0 that I half the week daily (Houston stop/go rush hour is terrible) and that I take to HPDE once/month.
I think a PDK GTS4.0 would be a great option for your described use case. The GTS is no slouch on track.

If planning to do 10 HDPE events a year I would definitely want LWBS assuming you and your wife are comfortable in them. I found the GT4 suspension OK on the street as long as you don't stiffen the shocks or springs. With the LWBS you can add proper shoulder harnesses which will accept a Hans device.

Don't put LWBS in a GTS. The GTS is a grand tourer type car. LWBS for GT4/Spyder. 18 way seats in CGTS are excellent.
I had same dilemma between GT4/CGTS. I test drove both multiple times. For me (in late 40's), the GT4 was too stiff for daily and NVH too high.
GT4 is a weekend canyon & track car. GTS would be easier to live with and use daily. My ultimate decision was that if I had the GT4, I'd end up grabbing the keys for my SUV rather than the GT4, as would just be easier in terms of comfort and street access (low front end of GT4). With my CGTS, it has just enough comfort levels to allow me to take it out instead of my SUV.
GTS is very capable on track/autocross, but its that last 5% at the limit where the GT4 excels. There's also the fact that the GT4's looks trump the CGTS.
Weigh up your use-cases for the car and purchase accordingly.

Are you doing HDPE to learn and have fun or to log the fastest possible lap times? If the former, the GTS is more than capable, whatever seats you choose. For many, the GTS is considerably better looking than the GT4. The GT car looks good on the track, but the wing looks kind of silly on the street.

I think a Spyder or Boxster GTS 4.0 PDK would be great in this situation. You have the option of dropping the top which you don’t have with the GT3. And either would be civil enough for driving. I have a hard time choosing between driving my 992 Targa 4S and my BGTS and I think that says a lot since the 992 cost roughly 50% more.

A GTS is more than enough car to track. Bucket in my race car, no buckets in my street cars is my motto and I never once missed having a bucket in a street car for track use. You could get the 18 ways which adds weight but you're not going for lap times I assume, and then you can adjust the bolsters to both your frames.

I daily my GTS with LWBS. No reason not to get them in the GTS if ingress/egress is not a problem. I had trouble at first but have mastered the technique and bounce in and out now. Very comfortable once you're in them and a bonus when tracking.
