GT4 RS Sport Auto Test - Nurburgring and Hockenheimring
Feel free to move/delete if already posted (did not find it) but I felt like this deserves its own thread as we start seeing actual performance reviews by independent testers.

edit: see it was already posted even though I searched the GT4 RS thread! As above, feel free to move.

Seems like closer to 991.2 GT3/RS performance if you stuck cup2 R rubber on them. 992 GT3 is in a different league. This is probably more representative of a representative test (off showroom floor with C Gephardt as same driver) vs Porsche doing hundreds of laps in not true production cars.

I tend to disagree, having just driven a 4RS at the 'Ring a couple of weeks ago - it can keep up with a 992 GT3 and a 991.2 GT3RSMR but it takes a lot of work - the big differentiator is the car's suspension compared to either of those cars - its much less confident over the bumps in comparision
Going back again to the ring in the fall, fun track but I'm nowhere close to where I'm operating here on US tracks...crazy but fun!

Its really not representative considering the car was on Cup 2Rs, had a specialized alignment, etc. What would be best if this was done with a factory OEM setup; for either track.
P.S.
Its just Hockenheim and NOT Hockenheimring.

Cool that you got to try it out. Think for us amateurs the performance going to be a lot closer vs a guy like Gebpardt who is basically an n ring expert and a a very good driver (not porsche factory driver good but close).

For those interested in the context - the list for CG and ring tests.
These tests are as much about the tires as anything else these days. For example the AMG GT R Black set the record on a soft/hard compound Cup2 R e.g. they have produced a track focussed specific compound tire unique to that car.
So a 992 GT3 on conventional 140 UTQG Cup2R will perform about the same as a 991.2 GT3 RS on similar Cup2R (essentially same amount of downforce, same spring rates, same track, similar power to weight etc etc). Put the 991 or 992 Turbo S on Cup2 R and it would go close to the times posted for the RS and 992 GT3. This is easy to demonstrate e.g. figure 8 test on same tires.
The conventional Cup2R are worth between 1 and 1.5s per minute when fresh. Put the 991.2 GT3 on Cup2R and it will likely run 7:08 - 7:11.
There were 3 or 4s left on the track, for the 4RS largely due to damp conditions early on - you can see CB is being careful (rightly so). He's normally about 10s off the pace of a Porsche works driver.
The Hockenheim GP circuit time was a better reflection of what the 4RS is capable of, in fact it was quicker than the 992 GT3 touring manual and the 911R, in part due to tires (if you look at the article in Sport Auto its clear the 911R was on tired tyres and it looks like 992 GT3 was on standard Cup2 which may well have been worn.
Its fair to say that Michelin have done as much for performance car times as the manufacturers have.
