I've seen photos of the GT4 fire extinguisher in two different placements - one alongside the centre console and the other under the passenger seat. What determines the placement?
I've got a GT4 with Clubsport & fire extinguisher on order and I'm trying to understand where it'll be fitted on mine. I thought it might have been the 981 GT4 that had it alongside the centre console, but the below pic has this arrangement on the 718:
I have a UK spec GT4 with the Clubsport Package and the fire extinguisher is installed next to the centre console. Porsche sell mats that have cut outs in to fit around the fire extinguisher when it is installed in this location.
Thats the correct placement its the OEM FEM motorsport fire extinguisher with internal bladder. Clubsport = rear Porsche cage, FEM motorsport fire extinguisher and Schroth Hans/Simpson compliant harness.
Non-Clubsport cars have the fire extinguisher mounted to the passenger seat. Clubsport cars have them mounted as OP picture. Unfortunately, the Clubsport package is not available in the US.
Might be a silly question, but does the fire extinguisher get in the way much for the passenger when mounted alongside the centre console? Looks like it will.

My Australian delivered car has the fire extinguisher fitted in the same spot your picture depicts.

It doesnt bother the passenger, but it does limit how far forward the passenger seat can go, it gets in the way of the slider handle at a certain point.

If its a right hand drive car - then yes, as the extinguisher will be fitted to the left hand footwell and the slide release lever on the LWBs is on the the right side of the seat base. Is it a problem, depends on how fussy the passenger is.
