I heat wrapped my Soul OAPs with Titanium LAVA Exhaust heat header pipe wrap roll 2 INCH WIDE X 50 FEET LONG - Thermal Zero handles up to 3000° F(~ $30 + some hose clamps and an hour or so).
I was concerned about the smell of warm tire that came from the rear wheel wells after every drive with the particulate filter in place. Thought I'd play it safe and save a few $$. I haven't driven it yet in over 70 deg F, since then, but I'll see if the olfactory test determines anything. I also have an IR thermometer that I'll shine at brake lines etc to see how hot they are. Not the same as being on a track, but this car will never go to one anyway.

I had mine coated silver. You can touch it with your hand after running.
heatwrap is old technology and as other have said, holds moister.
The coating is hardly more expensive than a good wrap material cost itself.
lots of local places do it, especially the drag car guys - so you might be surprised how many shops offer this service in your area.

Here are pics...1st and only time I've wrapped this stuff. I smell less tire odor when I get home. Still haven't taken temp readings. About 2500 miles on these.
Started at this end, hose clamps are buried under successive layers
Ended at this end.
, but will soon.

I haven't ordered an exhaust yet, but I'm considering doing the coating too.
Only question for those of you that have it: Any concern with the coating flaking off with lots of track use and heat cycles? I know it's rated for a crazy high temperature, but what is real world use like. Will it come off after 5 years of track driving etc.

Consider having a company like Headershield wrap it in the same material the OEM's use

I expect it to be quite durable as it’s true purpose is for the motor side to exhaust.
I have seen multiple seasons on western superbike and no issues.
I am not sure if one shop does a better job than another, but I know it’s not uncommon to have the insides coated too - this helps expedite the exhaust flow and sees a real world power increase.
