I might be interested in coming up to Toronto for a road rally. I was also thinking about putting something together for this summer on Rt 44 from Lock Haven to Coudersport, stopping at Hyner to watch hang gliding and have some lunch.

As far as my knowledge goes the engines that are developed by the GT department is usually used in some sort of a competitive motorsport environment in a Clubsport or Cup series. The 9A2 Evo motors are not used in any racing variant (718 Clubsport uses previous 981 engine, and the new variant uses 992 GT3/718 GT4 RS engine). I think time will tell how good this engine is long term. It does produce a healthy amount of torque and appears to be a strong engine.

I had a 981 Cayman GTS with a stick for the last 6 years. I put about 52k miles on it and tracked it 3-4 times. I recently traded it on a Boxster GTS 4.0 with a PDK. Unfortunately, I have only gotten to put a few miles on the Boxster as I have been out of town. The additional power, particularly at lower rpm, is a big difference. The exhaust on-throttle sounds great, but I miss the 981’s burble when you lift the throttle. It is great to have a convertible again.
You sir, clearly have most excellent taste in cars …

It’s top down weather and my exhaust system is opening up a little now - such beautiful 4.0 notes when the top is down!

GTS 4.0 PTS BRG with Expresso/Cognac
Just delivered to NC after film and ceramic. I have 48 miles already. Different from my previous 981 Cayman GTS but a very strong car. Perfect companion to my 981 red Boxster GTS.
I would love to find out if this is only BRG Cayman ever produced. Any suggestions on research much appreciated.

Also, as someone who has manifolds and an aftermarket exhaust, I can confirm I get plenty of burbles on overruns and general decel. If I shift from 1st to 2nd in the 4-5k rpm range, I can even get a fairly loud pop....I'm not sure how much of a fan of it I am. But if we ever get something above 50 degrees in MN when I'm not stuck working or golfing I'll be sure to grab some clips.
