I always look forward to this event every year. It is perhaps one of the best racing benchmark events that exists today for production cars (aside from the Nürburgring, but manufacturer car tests there are not controlled for differing drivers).
What do you guys think of the Cayenne GT earning a 2:52 mark, which is just 2 second shy of the GT4 from 2020? Of course the GT4 was manual but still, that time is uncomfortably close to our thoroughbred GT sports car.

The best thing about the GT4 is that it isn't obsessed with lap times. I can tell you who out of those 2 drivers is having more fun.
For that reason it is timeless.

Who cares? No one is cross shopping a Cayenne GT and a GT4. No one is buying a Cayenne GT as a track car. The frickin Porche Panamera was faster than both of then on LL last year. No one cares because despite the badge, the markets for each product have no overlap.

Yes, you definitely fit the demographics of the masses C&D is trying to reach; racing bench mark? SmH. Enjoy.

why do you seem so rectal-hurt? I dont care if no one is cross shopping, the fact is the times in the end are two seconds apart. Thats an SUV vs. a sports car. Instead of giving an intelligent response like saying it may be due to improved tire technology or that the GT department worked on the Cayenne GT, I get this.

^^^ Well, like my 6th grade teacher used to tell me, "Ask a stupid question; get a stupid answer."

I'm glad to see these some SUVs into the mix for good all weather daily drivers but not so much that cars gets bumped out such as the maserati mc20, Emira.or NSX type S for example.

Hopefully, the EMIRA is part of the list next year - can't wait to see what people think of that bad boy.
