How are the ADM's on the 4.0's these days?
The most recent posts I saw were saying $5k-10k.
I was playing with the configurator, and looking at some of the builds here. Wondering if I could trade my 981 GT4 for a 4.0 more or less straight up (or if I'd miss the GT4, almost sold it last year but didn't have time given the holidays).

An ATL dealer having worked up the deposit '23 GTS 4.0l paperwork,,, managed my allocation expectations as,, 12 to 18 months starting last week. 1/2022.
This dealership has serviced the '98 Carerra S for about 10 years, so we're a small fry customer. .. Didn't order the 993 from them nor the 981 Boxster GTS. .. To the sales gal, I'm simply another buyer getting while the getting is good before the ICE Cayman 4.0l is history.
www.porsche-code.com/PNS3HQU4 The Paint-To-Sample: .. Shooting for either a (964/944) Stone Grey Metallic or Slate Grey Metallic (964/993) both are early '90's medium grey metallic's w/ pearl. . A former daily driver was an '89 944S2 Coupe finished in Stone Grey Metallic with a two-tone interior known as Black w/Grey Beige leather; Black dashboard, top of the doors black with the interior balance in Grey Beige. . Gotta visit Atlanta Porsche HQ to sort out the finishes....

The Atlanta dealer having worked up simple deposit-position '23 GTS 4.0l paperwork of $2,500 held via AMEX,,, managed my allocation expectations as,, 12 to 18 months starting last week. 1/2022.

Have you driven a car with Porsche's implementation of adaptive cruise control? I have it on the '18 911 and it's useful on highways but not on surface streets. Of course, depends on your use. It's better than Tesla's TACC which seems to spend a lot of the time braking for phantom events. The Porsche system in '18 also doesn't pull away from a complete stop when traffic starts flowing again. Maybe they fixed that in newer implementations.
You may end up with one of the last ICE 718's. We are on the cusp of the transition to MY23. Still sitting at V110 while they sort out the PTS.

Operationally speaking, what grade would 992/718 owners give the Adaptive Cruise Control option? .. The word around the campfire is PAG's implementation is half-baked.. Comparatively, a recent 2021 Subaru Outback XT Touring wagon we purchased has the A.C.C. feature and I must say operates very, very well.. (our 1st use of an ACC-equipped vehicle) .. The Subi system allows intervention with the right foot throttle & steering wheel controls as needed, then the system instantly recuperates as set. . The Vail-DEN-Vail mountain I-70 highway trip couldn't be easier. ..
A 992 /718 test drive is in order no doubt. Thanks, GTSMeister . . .

Thank goodness for the cancellers. I had the same thing happen, called about a listing that was already sold, then asked if they had any good allocations. BGTS4.0 it was, and I say here's my CC number lets go! MSRP by the way.
What a difficult thing it is to choose everything, but in the end here it is:
PNVGNA83
End of May they say. Can't wait to try it out. Will be an upgrade from my 2002 Boxter.

gallucho -
Congratulations on both "in your lap allocation" and a solid, efficient build. . A Boxster GTS 4.0l 6sp in Aventurine Green metallic w/Brown canvas and a Black/Luxor Beige Leather interior sounds like fun.
