@LASDSGT770 , I've never seen the frunk lid liner. Is the idea it provides some extra insulation? If that's not the reason, what were your thoughts on adding it? Thank you.

It's to prevent luggage from denting your frunk hood from the inside. I have it in my shopping cart at Suncoast, but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

The threat is real. I dented my 996 from inside. It was stupid. So I use the lid liner now It's a quality part that looks OEM.

As stated...to prevent dents on the hood from possible loose items in the frunk.

Question

When we ordered the car, the option to change the moniker for 718 was not available. Add on...What do you think? It does take away the clean look, but?

Funny you're asking, I thought about that. I would do it just to get a newer car and potentially the last year - since I love my config, but a big con is simply the lost money for no other gain. If I configured the same car it is about $15,000 more. Plus I lose the investment in PPF, depreciation, and sales tax difference. And for the chunk I would finance, rates are higher. It also wouldn't be a Stuttgart car - which I think everyone says doesn't matter, but I think is cool. Now, if I was really unhappy with something I picked, or I just wanted to change, sure.

That EV/Hybrid rumor was my motivation. My car is at the port waiting to board. I really dont know whether it is a '24 or a '25

Yeah it's hard to see the benefit in changing just solely for it to be a newer year. Since 2022 there have been pretty big price jumps as well as some options taken away. The only REAL benefit maybe is the addition (or supposed) of Android Auto, but not worth spending all that extra money for something that can be coded in on a 2022 model. And if warranty is the concern, it would be cheaper to just buy an extended warranty from a third party insurer.

Counter with an offer to trade the GTS for an allocation for an RS model
