Default Average mileage on Dunlop’s before replacement?

I’m planning a couple big rally’s in 2022 and trying to gauge my tire wear. Just curious what the average mileage is before replacement? For me, spirited driving and a couple track days are part of my routine. I rolled the outer edges pretty good at COTA. I also have basic negative camber adjustments.

My reason for asking is b/c I have a couple track day opportunities, but mainly concerned about my outer edges wearing thin before my upcoming rally’s.

I know tons of variables are at play, so just looking for simple average mileage people have gotten out of their Dunlop Race 2’s.

I love the Dunlop Race 2’s BTW! Thanks.

The rear Dunlops lasted about 5000 miles on my 981 GT4. They wore pretty evenly across the tire. No track time on these tires.

Thinking out loud here, I wonder how different the tires compounds are between a N0 Race 2 and a N1 as supplied on the 718 GT4/Spyder?

As for mileage, measure the tread depth and extrapolate the wear and remaining tread, this should get you close.

FWIW, I have them on my Spyder and think they are great tires.

Was able to get just over 10,000 miles on my OEM Dunlop’s, with 1250 of those miles on the track (Road America). Towards the end you could really feel them dripping off after lap 3 or 4 (< 2:40 min lap). On the drives home never an issue, even towards the end.

I’m more of an intermediate driver. So it makes sense a far more seasoned driver like @Bill Lehman would see his needing replacement much sooner.

I liked how they performed over a vary large range of conditions.

A good indicator, as mentioned previously, is if your times/performance drop off after a few laps and rear grip (primarily) is noticeably reduced, they are "heat cycled" out by then - and definitely require replacement (especially for track)

also note the manufacture date - anything more than 3yrs old (chance would be a fine thing) should also be replaced due to time-based chemical decomposition.

I’m at around 2,700 miles with Dunlops, car is mostly driven kind of hard in the canyons and did 1 track day. The rear tires are getting up there, will require replacement probably in 1,000 miles or so.

Haven’t ever tried Cup 2’s so I cannot compare performance but their treadwear rating is quite higher.

I would be really curious about the tread depth on the rear tires... for comparison to mine.

And FWIW, according to the Tire Rack you can't use the UTOG number to compare between brands of tire.

About a month ago I took the last RM2 rear tire (295-30R20) for my Spyder in Canada... there isn't a lot of these around.
