Hi Everyone,
Wanted to share quick PSA about a Brake / Clutch Fluid Reservoir leak on my 718 Spyder.
Received a "Low Brake Fluid" warning in my dashboard.
Inspection of the reservoir under the black plastic cover in the frunk showed that the clutch fluid supply line (circled in the below picture) was nearly disconnected!
This was the source of the leak, and the fluid level over ~1,500 miles fell well below the minimum marking.
Apparently the brake fluid reservoir also supplies fluid for clutch through that black flexible line.
I was able to push the line back onto the reservoir and top off with DOT4 brake fluid to make it home.
Dealer replaced the fluid line and performed a full brake flush to replace with OEM fluid under warranty.
Not sure if others have had this problem but wanted to share as a potential preventative check for other owners.
I'll definitely be checking this line in the future before any longer trips or track days.
The line is just pushed on and there is no clamp, however it should be tight enough to fit snugly over the reservoir.
The picture I posted is of the line almost falling off, and the line should be almost fully covering that clear plastic extension of the tank.
I'm not sure if the line was defective, if it was an assembly oversight, or if it worked its way off over time.
Will be keeping an eye on this as it seems like the part is not properly designed.
I just checked mine. Was pushed on almost all the way, no clamp but quite tight, almost like it was heat-shrunk, and fluid at “MAX” level. About 850 miles on the car. Thanks for the heads up.
Can you please post another few photos of the tank, showing the relative position in the frunk? I pick up my Spyder this Friday, and would very much love to see this so that I can inspect it at time of purchase from dealer....
Thanks much!

With my 718 Spyder, I had exactly the same fault, same diagnosis, same repair, a few months ago. Dealer service also cleaned up the brake fluid that had dripped down into the front of the car. I'm sorry I didn't report it here at the time, but good on you for your report.
After fixing the safety issue, my next step would be looking for any affected paint, cleaning, and touching up. I haven't seen any paint withstand brake fluid for long.
Thanks for pointing this out! I just checked and mine was not quite all the way on. It definitely moved a few mm when I pushed it.
Seems awfully under engineered to have this simply be press fit (and not all that tight of a press fit either). I can imagine it would gradually work loose due to vibration.
