London - not sure how this whole thing works tho. I'm sure loyalty has something to do with getting an allocation at a time like this. Based on their numbers, I should get an allocation the next round... fingers crossed This will be my 3rd brand new P car so I'm hoping that they see that.. lol

Loyalty eh? Im a first time Porsche buyer, so if allocation comes down to how Porsche values the customer then I might be out of luck.

Also we aren't buying from the same dealer

I received notice of my BGTS allocation today! This will be my 2nd Porsche, the 1st being a CPO 991.1.
January allocation, February build, supposedly...
Very excited.

So you were told today that you will receive a February Allocation in January?

That’s a little strange as dealers generally receive allocations months out.

Allocation Date = Build Date

I guess I have to consider myself lucky I was not asked for a deposit until I got an allocation. I get why dealers do this, especially during these times when business may be difficult. But still…

Maybe I misunderstood my sales advisor as I am new to this. Their dealership received allocations yesterday... maybe the January part was when the change freeze happens?
At any rate, here's my build: PNQIH947

Well yes, that makes sense. Lock/freeze date usually about 2 weeks before production.

Ensure you know your lock date. Be aware it can move up.

Congrats

Not to put a damper on things but a dealer posted yesterday on the 992 GT3 forum that the allocations that came out for the GT3 this week were for the entire MY22 run and that there were no more allocations coming for ‘22 cars in the future. Don’t know if that is the same for the GT4/ Spyder, but he said they were surprised and that the numbers were 35-40 percent lower than what they expected.

I am also waiting over 6 months for a GT4 allocation, technically at v070. Good news is that 911 model year starts March, while 718 is August.
