Default 2020 - 718 GT4 My Engine Sounds Broken

Hello, I have a 2020 718 GT4 with approx 7k miles. It is my DD.

My car made a slight ticking before, during and well after break-in. i was told it was the injectors at 5k miles when I did my first oil change. It was never that big of an issue knowing the GT cars have these sounds.. the sounds have gotten weirder, louder and at this point are making every day driving an experience to just solve the sound; basically ruining the point of the car..

some background:
I broke the engine in according to best practices, and drive long distances as a time. Very rarely are my commutes/trips less than an hour drive; so I do not believe there are/is any issues with how I have been operating my vehicle.

This is my 5th P-Car (981 boxster s & GTS, 991.2 4S, Macan gts, cayenne) and while most have have negligible problems, my 911 had turbo issues and was returned after a year or so.

all that being said, I am now approaching a full year of ownership with with the GT4, and no end to this sound in sight. In fact, I’d go so far as to say that it has gotten worse and basically croaks & chirps also. The sound is predominantly heard under light acceleration while in gear, between 3-4K rpm. I have tried ac, steering, and every other item to narrow the sound down; but unfortunately it seems to be only related to the acceleration. The sound happens more so while in motion but can be heard lightly while in neutral as well.

I have an appointment this coming week to address this and hope it will. I am done trying to accept this noise as normal because it just isn’t..

if anyone knows what this could be tied to that would be great.

thanks!

Here’s a few clips; you should have no problem hearing what I am referring to.

I have a GT4 and I know what the injectors sound like. I think you are dealing with something different.

Take it to the dealer. The second vdo clearly has an odd sound.

Easiest to hear in the second video.

Does it idle normally?
Does it make expected power?

I’d be annoyed with that too, it’s beyond the injectors ticking (which is bad enough) and definitely not acceptable.
I don’t know what is causing it, I don’t think it’s serious, but hopefully an inspection will detect what it is.

thank you for your replies!
the sound is so noticeable that I didnt have to do anything except hit record and close the windows.

idle sounds normal with a slight tick as I have heard in most videos for comparison.
Also as far as power is concerned, all seems fine however I have been very concerned to push it too far with this strange new sound in addition to the others..

Good luck, but I'm guessing dealer will return with, "no problem found":

Sounded artificial..... my wild guess would be a faulty sound symposer or maybe something like a few pieces of metallic junk got caught in front of the air filter swirling around in the air box

my understanding is that there is no “sound symposer” In these cars? My 981 GTS had one and sounded fantastic but slightly artificial.

The second vid made me think of a sequential transmission, but otoh, I've got hearing damage.

Hmm; I just took a look. Weird that both my 981 GTS and this have the same type of symposer (valve to pipe in sound) but the 981 sounded fantastic yet slightly fabricated. this has been garbage from the beginning if I am making a comparison. If neither was a manufactured sound as Porsche advertised then there’s something I am missing. Now I’m definitely confused.

but wouldn’t screwing with the device is invalidate my warranty?

have you checked your exhaust system for holes?... not sure on warranty, I'd leave it all stock until you've got this sorted
