New Seats for 2022 - 3D printing LWBS
New Seats in 2022 look pretty sick. It even offers various rigidity. Hope it will appear on configurator soon.

Oh wow.
The design with the mesh makes me think these will breathe a little bit better than the current ones in my '21 Spyder. But the article also references "sizes" of seat.... I wonder if that also means one could get a different lower cushion to accommodate tall/short drivers?
I'm fairly tall and wish I could get lower in the seat. For fun I removed the lower cushion completely and much preferred the seating position (actually moved the seat UP a bit.) Makes me think a thinner cushion would be ideal for me.

what's notable is this:
"Following some final adjustments, the customised seat is now available as part of the new Performance Parts offering from Porsche Tequipment. The seat is suitable for various Boxster, Cayman and 911 models. From February 2022 onwards, it can also be ordered from Porsche Exclusive Manufaktur as a standard feature and it will also be integrated into the Porsche Car Configurator at this point. In addition to its unique look, the new central section of the seat is its main innovation: parts of the cushion and backrest surfaces are produced using a 3D printer and they are available in three different rigidity grades, meaning the seat can be customised to suit the customer's specific needs."
note that this means that if you have a current model that is compatible with the seat (electrically) then you can buy them after-production, in addition to specc'ing them on new production models!!!

If you read the details from Porsche, it's not a new seat. Instead it's a new customized center section retrofit that goes into your Porsche's existing LWBS. They can be swapped into and out of the standard factory LWBS from 991 and 981 LWBS forward,

Pricing is 2.7k euro per seat for what sounds like an aftermarket accessory. That seems exceptionally low for something like this coming from Porsche, so I feel I must be misreading something.

Looks good! Can you tell if the side / bolster area is different than current? Strange upgrade dates, I wonder what changed past week 47.

And in the US they will only be available for the driver's seat.
Amazing how many jump the gun with their interpretation, what they wish for and not read the fine print.

For Club Racing, NASA and HSR I purchased a shell and had it custom fit with expanded foam. You can also do it at home. I trailered my car but you can take out the driver’s seat going to the track. Reverse the procedure when you get back and reset the seat belt light. For a long haul if you’re not trailering and you don’t want to sit in a shell for 6 hours put the shell upside down with the back facing forward in the passenger side. Take it out and swap it at the track. You’d obviously want a roll bar, 6 or 7 point harness and a HANS device.
This may not work at all events if you need an instructor as most events require equal restraints and seats.

$2.7k Euro per seat seems low! That's about $3.1k US You must love the Porsche Kool-Aid! At that price 2 cushion sets are more than the LWBS option...
