I have a 718 GTS 4.0 on order. After reading a zillion threads it seems like Porsche is phasing out their Pirelli P Zero tires in favor of the Michelin PS4s. Are any cars still arriving with the Pirellis? Some might think it’s an unnecessary expense, but if my car comes with Pirellis, I’ll be swapping them out on day one. In almost all head to head comparisons, Michelin comes out on top and Pirellis are near the bottom.

The head to head comparisons you speak of may not be the same PZero Porsche spec that are used as OEM on the car.
I have a set PZero Porsche spec on my PDK Cayman T.
And a set of the PS4S Porsche spec on my manual Cayman T.
Not enough difference IMO to make much of a difference.

Pirelli's are still being fit onto the GTS models at least. My 2022 has the p-zeros, and I've seen others delivered with them as well. For what I can tell, the 911's are fitted with different make tires too.

My MY22 BGTS 4.0 is on a boat in the Atlantic now and was fitted with the Pirellis. I was disappointed because the Michelins are regarded so highly but I have come to terms with it knowing, like everything else on this car, I will not touch the limits of it.

The Tire Rack video review had good things to say about it, especially in wet conditions.

Who is behind this conspiracy? In comparison tests and reviews from many drivers, Tirerack consistently rates Michelin PS4s as number one and P Zero tires near the bottom. The Pirellis that came with my Audi RS3 were horrible. Many owners, including me replaced the tires just after delivery. The ones who didn’t had trouble with their tires within a few thousand miles. Hopefully, the Porsche specified P Zeros are fine. I hope you’re right because it will save me about $1700.

My BGTS also comes with Pirellis. Its a 2022.

PS4S are marginally superior in terms of grip and comfort, but not by much. I wouldn't swap out to PS4S, however I will purely due to going for a 245/295 combo. The 265 rear from factory is way too stretched on the 10.5" wheel.

The Pirelli P Zeroes are coming as the newest generation PZ4 of which are nearly completely different than the P zeroes of old.

They have done very well from tyrereviews and I actually regret selling mine for some PS4S.

Every set of PZeros I have ever owned was total garbage. No conspiracy, personal experience.

Its been parroted over and over that it’s taken on a life of its own. The difference is minimal. Most people wouldn’t even notice but they’ve been conditioned to assume something so they do. I’ve had PZeros on multiple cars and they were absolutely fine tires. But put whatever you want on your car. I love the Michelins but I wouldn’t take off brand new PZeros.
