2022 Spyder delivery
Picked up my wife’s Spyder today. It was the first 2022 delivered at our local dealer. Thanks to Dylan and Ryan and Porsche of Melbourne for getting it prepped and delivered so quickly. Only one chip related hiccup. Mine and another BGTS delivering tomorrow arrived with Apple Car play removed from the build by someone in Germany. The price was adjusted but now my SA is scrambling to find parts to add it. Not sure if this was a one time problem with 2022 July builds or a continued supply issue. Is anyone else missing Car Play from their 2022 build?
loving the car! Getting used to added torque from the 4.0l! Her last Boxster was a base 981. Now surviving break in period…

That would be a deal breaker for me. I specifically ordered Apply CarPlay and omitted the Porsche Nav. because of it. AppleCar Play will be my only source of navigation.
I would demand the Porsche Nav. at no cost as a condition of delivery unless the plan is to for them to add CarPlay back in. I do not know if it is just a software thing or if there is hardware involved, but that would be a big deal for me.

Great spec!
Congrats
I think the Apple Car Play can be coded by the dealer

Was it removed from your window sticker/build sheet?

It was on the build as sent in because I intended to use it for Navigation but removed in the Porsche computer order by someone in Germany as a “bulk entry”, whatever that is, according to my SA. They did remove it and the cost from the build sheet. My SA says no problem adding it now and he will get it done. Just a surprise and inconvenient until it’s done.

The car is missing the USB connector in the console which supports Car Play. So connector and wire to the head unit at a minimum. Probably need to replace the entire console tray to mount the USB as well.

Just received word today that my CarPlay was removed as well and the price adjusted down accordingly. Not a huge deal for me, but I would like Porsche to add it back at some point if possible.

I just contacted my SA to ask about it and he knows nothing about any current constraints on Apple CarPlay, but he said he will look into it for me. My build isn't due to start until 10/1 so maybe it isn't an issue any longer, but I definitely need to know if it is.
