Spyders and the track
Back when I had a 986, I had a bk roll over hoop to give more headroom. On the bk website, I don’t see anything for the 718, much less a roll bar.
Does PCA let people run 718 boxters and spyders with just the stock humps? What are people doing to become “track legal,” if anything?
TIA

Yes, closed roof or arm restraints. Check with MAVPCA as there some instructors that drive their vert that way.

I think you might want to run top up - while I do not have any data to support this assertion, I imagine that top up provides cleaner airflow over the car and to the spoiler than top down...

The sites and sounds of COTA with your top down are addicting.

If you do a PCA DE here is the guidance
Any make of car delivered with factory installed roll over protection meets the minimum standards for PCA DE events. In these cars, we recommend the soft-top be in the up position or the hard top installed. If the top is in the down position, an SFI and/or FIA approved arm restraint system must be used.
If a car does not have factory installed roll over protection, a roll bar or roll cage must be installed, which meets the "broomstick" rule (the driver's helmeted head is below a bar placed on top of the roll bar and windshield). Design, installation and materials of roll bars or cages and their installation must meet PCA Club Racing specifications, contained in Appendix A-Roll Cage Specifications of the PCA Club Racing Rules. All Targa tops must be installed unless there is additional roll over protection. All sunroofs must be in the closed position.
The windshield alone is not considered to be factory roll over protection.

Three Wheelin'
From my experience with NASA Mid-Atlantic this year and last is top down. Driven Summit Point and VIR with 2013 Boxster S. PCA Potomac at the same tracks is top up unless you go the arm constraint route.
I don't believe VIR allows 911 cabs with pop-up roll bars. They are allowed at Summit Point.
You notice the wind buffeting above 100.

My local track is MSR-Cresson, which is also largely a technical track.
I only ran Eagles Canyon in a hard top long ago, so I don’t remember how much high speed it was.
Adapting is easy enough. Top up or down.

I drove MSR-Houston once, and I don’t recall it being remotely as technical as Cresson. I don’t remember much camber at all, or elevation change (besides one hump / hill).
