Default Spyder to get some SOUL

Two items on order. Soul Valve controller and exhaust. The exhaust clip sounds insane. Valve controller to be installed with existing exhaust and then will swap out exhaust when it arrives. I just can't live with the OEM valve controller, most annoying part of what is an amazing car.

Did you consider the OAP? I hear that is the key component.

Yes considered it, but “for me” I’m trying to change the sound characteristic. The Soul creates a higher pitch sound, less throaty.

Did you order just the rear section, or more?

Mike / John (soul guy), can you comment on the relative impacts of the oap vs a back box?

Thanks

while its somewhat subjective I would argue that (any) "straight thru" (no resonator) significantly increases the volume and the nature of the engine sound - more than replacing the OEM exhaust "back box" and retaining the OEM OAPs with their resonator and filter matrix therein

rear section (for now)

I will take this one step at a time. Think I will remove the fake sound noise maker, too

I wish I had done this and not replaced the OAPs and the akra slipon at the same time...

I was going to replace the valve controller to start but then I saw this clip. At the :41 sec mark you get a hint of a 458 exhaust (okay that’s a stretch!) But pretty flippin awesome. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=OWTCn2IynMk&t=74s

I need to change the valve controller ASAP. It’s just annoying and emotionless.

I almost bought the rear section a few weeks ago but I've decided I really need the car first to assess things. I had a nice conversation with John though about the rear section, and I admire the design and the development that's gone into it. I'm looking forward to your review, in particular if that section introduces any drone that's not there with stock.

I took the incremental approach and stopped after Soul OAP…one and done.
