Ahhh, I too have the 2-mode controller, I carry the remote in the car, but have the Homelink buttons programmed as well!

No room for the key fob unit in mine, I have the switch panel in there (post #16 above), and I use that outlet for the CTEK charger/maintainer.

 

I used the lighter plug to light cigs and occasional mini stogie after a long drive 😂 its like after sex. i still have some plugs from back in the day when they actually gave u stuff to light smokes in the car. Never ashed in the car tho
