Should I replace old w new?
I can get an allocation for the gt4 and am curious if it is worthwhile or not. Other than the fact I have racing yellow now and really like the shark blue in the 22 model
currently have a 981 gt4 with all the bells and whistles minus the lwbs, but am curious if I should lay down my deposit and move to the new chassis?
id probably do pdk so my wife could drive it, and it might be quicker on the autox course as well.
let’s hear some thoughts?

I had a 981 GT4 and have a 718 Spyder. I tracked the 981 many times and the Spyder for 1 day. Both fantastic cars on track, as expected and as you read about. 718 builds upon the 981 with evolutionary updates. More power is welcome (track comment).
Unless you really like your 981 for a specific reason, I'd move up to the 718. Assuming you are getting a good value on your 981, which I think you should. Hardly any on the market here in Canada for example, less were built than 718. With the 718 you will also have a 2022 MY car, should you decide to trade at some point. Assuming you've had it since 2016 or so and get a good value, great, you've enjoyed the car well and not paid much to do so.
Plus you've got 2-3 other reasons - colour change, wife option and possibly chance to spec LWB. Great seats, adds a sense of occasion to the car and great on track.
I'm moving off Spyder and into a GT4, thinking about PDK as well - for track and off chance wife might want to drive. (Maybe then she'll be more into hearing about my cars if she enjoys it).
