Werks Reunion caravan and unofficial c&c
If anybody is interested in joining a caravan from San Diego to Monterey, I'll be leaving San Diego and starting at Porsche Carlsbad at 8am on Thursday, August 12th. If there is confirmed interest from the greater Los Angeles area(this means to include all PCA regions), we can stop by PECLA probably at about 10:00am to collect more people and then head up from there. My plan is to drive on the 5, then 405, then 101, and then the 1 the rest of the way.
Bring walkie talkies if you have them. Google Map says the drive will take about 8 hours from San Diego but factoring in stopping at PECLA, gas, bathroom, and lunch, this will easily turn into a 10 hour drive or more with traffic so that is why the early start from San Diego.
On Saturday, August 14th, I'm going to be at Alice's Restaurant to drive through the mountain and probably head down to the 1 afterwards. From there, we're driving to San Francisco for some sight seeing and then to Napa for some wine tasting. Feel free to meet at Alice's if you're interested. Alice's Restaurant is located at 17288 Skyline Blvd, Woodside 94062.

Maybe I will try to join you on your ride towards PECLA; i usually leave around 9 for work (Irvine -> Long Beach)

Hi all. Just checking to see if there is any serious interest from the San Diego crowd and Los Angeles area crowd?
Update: Originally, I said to meet at Porsche Carlsbad at 8am but my wife and I are planning/trying to leave a little earlier at 6am to try and beat as much traffic as possible leaving SoCal. We'll stop at Starbucks and probably hit some traffic on the way to Porsche Carlsbad but without traffic, it'll take us about 1 hour to get there so I'd like to meet at 7-7:30am on 8/12. From there, we'll drive up the 5 through the 405 to meet at PECLA and collect more people and then drive up the 1 the rest of the way. Of course, you can leave the group when you like but my plan is to drive to Ocean Ave and also the 17 mile loop to check it out since I've never been there. If you're planning on joining, I would suggest bringing walkie talkies too.
If you're interested in joining, please PM me and I can text you in the morning as I leave my house so you can plan your time accordingly.
Also, this is not a Cannonball Run so if you're looking for that kind of caravan, look elsewhere. I don't want any trouble with the law. Let's keep is safe, sane, and fun.
