Default Lamin-x Headlight Covers?

Anyone try them? I decided to not have PPF applied to my headlights due to the possibility of delamination issues but Lamin-x appears to sell precut kits. I have their precut kit for my side markers (Gunsmoke) and I made my own for the rear reflectors (Charcoal) and they turned out well.

why wouldn't Lamin-X delaminate the headlights? I am guessing both use pretty similar adhesives.

These headlights don’t have very much curvature, so the only reason they’d delaminate is if you had a crap install and had to pull it off.

Anything applied with adhesive and pulled off can delam the lights.

Yeah, I was thinking that Lamin-X might not have the grip that PPF has but if it does then I agree it would be no different; however, do we know that for sure?

I wouldn't worry about it. Xpel HQ here in San Antonio does Porsche headlights all the time. Either probably same, find a good installer -- which I'm sure you have. I'd be more concerned which product is better.

Here is what Xpel and Laminators-X say about removal:

The removal process is just a matter of warming the plastic and peeling them off. They will require some muscle to get them off, but they normally peel off without any residue left on the lens. If any adhesive at all remains behind, it may be removed by simply rubbing it with your thumb. The adhesive will then ball up and roll off.

Once the film has settled (24-48 hours), the product is no longer considered reusable. To remove a long-term installation, warm the film and peel it off slowly. If there is any adhesive left on the lens, simply roll it into a ball using your finger or thumb. Use an adhesive remover, or a similar product that is safe for automotive finishes, to remove any left-over residue.

Lol....looks like the same technical writer.

The only thing you will "delaminate" is the factory thin UV protective skin/clearmask they put on, which can be peeled off. It seems to me that removing this is of no consequence as clearmask film is UV protective anyhow.

I had to have one of my headlights replaced under warranty due to malfunction/short inside. They are nearly $3000 each from Porsche. No way I would drive this car without proper Clearmask on the headlights, but that's just me.

I've got STEK yellow on my headlights. It sits overtop the STEK clear PPF. Didn't do PPF over my last car's headlights at urging of P dealer, and they got trashed/pitted in short order. Like others have said, heat them up and peel off–but for this one I'm keeping some sort of protection on lights.

Looks sharp with the yellow, so you have a double layer on the lights with this?

Correct - so if the yellow gets crappy or I get sick of it I'll just take off - but it sits on top of clear STEK protection.

Does anyone know if someone makes a precut dark film to cover the rear reflectors? There are companies that sell this for BMW cars but I have not found one for Porsche cars.
