Default Deciphering the VIN

I assume each 4.0 car (GT4, Spyder, GTS Cayman and Boxster) has its own VIN sequence and, thus, production number. My incoming CGTS VIN ends in 1xx8 so I’m assuming it’s the 1xx8th CGTS made for MY21. Correct?

In general yes, but VIN production is not always sequential.

Caymans are produced at 2 locations, K and S in the VIN. The VINs can be identical except for location code.

All Boxsters are built in Zuff — S code.

What about the GT variants - the Spyders and GT4's?

There are various spreadsheets here if you search a bit. For example, I am tracking all North American 2021 Spyders here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets...it?usp=sharing. I know Ronbauer has a shared sheet for 2021 GT4s. I am not sure if anyone is tracking GTSes - maybe someone should? There are sheets for 2020 models also, do some searching.
