Default Apply Car Play question...

For those of you that have Apple Car Play, does the Porsche interface allow you to use the touch screen when the car is in motion?

On my car, I have full control over the touch screen at anytime, but I was using it in my g/f's Mazda the other day and as soon as I started driving, the touch screen locks you out and you have to use the center control wheel. I am assuming that is because my car doesn't have a control wheel, so the touch screen is the only interface you can use. I am assuming the same would apply to the GT4 since it does not have a control wheel either, but I just want to confirm.

Thanks

It does. 2021 Cayman GTS here. Might be different for other models like the Panamera

GT4 - it is fine to use CarPlay while driving. it does not lock up the screen while in motion.

I literally just connected my phone for the first time to use Apple CarPlay and as others have said, it does not lock you out of the screen. I will say though that if you're trying to read your texts as they come in, the system/Siri will read the text to you. It will not display the actual text message while you're driving.

I think that is universal, neither my g/f's Mazda or my SS 1LE will let you read the text on the screen, it will only read it back to you and you can only reply with a voice command, not type anything.
