SoCal get together thread
Taking a page from @rooster17 for the idea of starting this thread.
With SoCal being such a large market for Porsche and being home to such a large population in a relatively small area, why not try and get together to share builds, share stories, ask for opinions, ask for advice and see in person why we're all on this forum....THE CARS.
I'm not affiliated in anyway but since Morning Shift at PECLA hasn't started back up yet, let's try and get a large turnout from Rennlist at South OC Cars and Coffee on July 3rd. The event has a huge turnout and it's fairly middle ground for all of SoCal from San Diego to Hollywood to Riverside. This event seems to be well organized but please be respectful of rules and regulations as there are residential areas nearby so no showboating, revving of engines, doing burnouts, etc. Don't be the DB driving the Porsche that ruins it for everybody else. They do put people on blast on their social media so don't be the one. Here's the link to their website for more info. South OC Cars and Coffee
Going forward, if there's interest in this thread, we can use it to share various cars and coffees, drive tours, PCA events, etc around SoCal. Maybe I can figure out a way to create another Google Spreadsheet to house all of the events going on every week.
Update 9/14/21: I just learned of a website that lists a lot of Cars & Coffee events in the SoCal area. Thought I would share with the group in case folks are looking for something to do on weekends. Check out: http://www.socalcarculture.com/events.html
I'll add a couple that are reoccurring that I don't see on the list.
1. Rancho Santa Fe Cars and Coffee - 5978 Paseo Delicias, Rancho Santa Fe 92067 - Every Saturday 8-11
2. Point Loma Cars and Coffee - in Liberty Station at the SeaHive parking lot at 2750 Dewey Road, San Diego - Every Saturday 8-10
3. Cars-Coffee-N-Doughnuts San Diego - 6755 Mira Mesa Blvd, San Diego 7-9:30 (I think this is held the last Sunday of every month) September 26th is next event and it will feature Porsches.

Dang would love to get together for the meet on the 3rd but unfortunately wife booked Disneyland that weekend. I like the gtg idea though as it would be fun to get a good group.

A future meet up would be fun. Not sure what I am doing the 3rd. I occasionally go to C&C events ( going to one at the Grove this Sunday), but on the days I get to drive I usually head to the canyons.

Great meeting you as well and a fantastic showing of GT4's and Spiders yesterday. I won't be able to make it on July 3rd unfortunately as going to be on a trip but hope to make one soon though.

Long weekend coming up. Happy Independence Day everybody! Let's celebrate by getting a large showing of Porsches at the South OC Cars and Coffee on July 3rd. It's located at 101 W Avenida Vista Hermosa, San Clemente from 9-11am. https://www.southoccarsandcoffee.com
For those that are coming from the San Diego area, I'm thinking of doing an informal meet at Porsche Carlsbad between 7-7:30am. We'll leave promptly at 7:30 as it takes about 35 minutes to get to San Clemente. "Doors open" at 8:30am but with 500-600 cars (as stated on their website) attending the event on average and this being a long weekend, I expect it to be quite busy so there will be cars lined up to get in.
Check in if you're going and please for those that are caravanning, please drive safely and obey all laws. No hooligan driving. We're not trying to be that stupid person like we've all seen on You Tube leaving or going to a cars and coffee. (cough-Mustangs) I'm not affiliated with this event in any way. Just trying to promote the Porsche community.
Maybe afterwards, if people are interested, we can do a group drive somewhere. Maybe through Ortega Highway or go somewhere for lunch.
