Default Tips for buying 2022 718 Cayman GT4

Hi,

I’m new for Porsche and looking for buying a brand new 2022 718 Cayman GT4 now. I understand it’s extremely limited and maybe all allocation are spoken. Do you know any dealer has the allocation open that I can call for?

Would you mind to share some tips how to get one at MSRP? I’m in Chicagoland area.

I would walk into all the Porsche dealerships in your area and see if they had an allocation. I say this because, I walked in and they had an allocation because someone had cancelled theirs. Although, I believe it is very difficult to get allocation on a GT4 at the moment. Unfortunately, this is probably not of much help but it was my experience and I was able to secure one by doing this. Best of luck to you.

My tip is to get a 981. If your still interested in the 718, there is another forum for that... Cheers

Thanks man. I’m new for GT4 and driving M2 over years. I have learned some good things for 981 but 718 seems promising as well.

I have called every dealership (20+ of them!) within 150 miles of DC and 0 GT4 allocations available. Don't know how legitimate it is but I was told by one dealer that they wanted to make more spyders than GT4's and so there aren't many GT4 allocations available. Combine that with the chip shortages and the 718 GT4 is pretty hard to get. Certainly harder than i thought it would be considering I thought porsche wasn't going to limit it like they did the 981 gt4.

4th quarter allocations are coming out in august so I would get on the phones again then.

My dealer called me about 3 weeks ago and offered a configurable allocation for an October build with a November delivery on a ‘22’ I now have a V200 Shark Blue GT4 scheduled for delivery at PEC ATL. The GT4s occasionally pop up at random. Sometimes it feels like playing a game of Whack-a-Mole.

Might have to call out of state; actually somebody from the same area I believe picked up a showroom car (like me) from the same socal dealer. McKenna Porsche

I've bought most of my sports cars (including my Spyder) in November through January without having to wait for allocations. Markets ALWAYS cycle, even for hard to find cars so if I were you I'd plan to go shopping this winter.

We’ll definitely have to get together. Andy might come along when I pick it up.

I have to admit I had more fun in the GT4 than either of the GT3s.😁

There is someone asking almost the same amount as my 2022 GT4 is costing me for a 2016 GT4 that as far as I can tell is a stripper with LWBs, a fire extinquisher and dual climate with 20000km. last year I could have bought a 981 GT4 for under 90g CAD, this year it's 115-130g CAD.

With what they're asking for 981 GT4s right now, my advice would be to put a name down on an allocation list at any dealer in the surrounding area that has a list that is only 0 or 1 or 2 people and will give MSRP.
