I daily drove my former 991.2 GT3 with buckets for over 10k miles (including Chicago winter). Buckets are super comfortable to run around in all day, but ingress/egress does get annoying (especially when holding a cup of coffee or something).

I was thinking about selling my DD M5, so I tried driving only the GT4 for a week. No biggie, I could daily this car. Not the best option, but I could do it. And I have LWBs. I’d go to PS4s though, for the wet weather traction.

I daily, but work from home office so its always a pleasure drive no matter where I go. If I had to commute and it was more than 20 min and had some freeway miles I could do but wouldnt be optimal IMO.

At first I had my heart set on LWBS, because I am a SERIOUS CAR GUY, and LWBS ARE FOR REAL RACERS. I figured, how bad could they be? After having sat in them and taken a quick spin, they would be great on the track, but getting in and out more than a few times would take considerably more effort, Kudos to those who do.

Having electronic key sensing is something Porsche should have done, as daillying it will require manually pressing the unlock on the key (rather than almost every other car out there that already sense the key is near).

I would be happy to DD our 718 GT4. In fact, i think it would be wonderful. I do think it would be less wonderful with LWBS. The standard two way sofas are terrific.

God bless,
TT

CaptainFin,

I 1st was going to give you a Quick reply but I've changed my mind and the reason is.

I went back and see you joined RL on May 2021 and have Posted a total of 5-Posts.
So, I'm going to take it that you are being Serious on what you ask and not just Trolling to get a Major Debate between those that don't have have and those that do have them..
I think since your really new to RL I should introduce myself to you Sir.
I'm a 75 year old male and I have been into Performance cars/vehicles since the Mid 60's.
I'm an American and originally from Frankfort, KY. in the USA.
What your going to be reading below from me is Not my personal observation !!!
It will be what I have extensively researched for months and months and months Before placing my order for my 2021 GT4 back in December 2020.

Let me get this show on the road .............

This is not intended as Smart-*** comments below buddy and it's certainly not intended to get some on going, never-ever-ending debate on the Carbon Seats with those RL members that have them.

Do you really, honestly think the guys on RL that just spent $5,900.00 dollars US are going to tell you they ..................
Totally-Suck and are a Major Pain to get in and out of ???
And if the above is not Bad-Enough ???
You cannot Adjust the Back of the Carbon-Seats as it is a Fixed-Position.
If you get where I'm coming from then here is my suggestion.
Go to YouTube and watch all the videos where the Reviewers comment on those Carbon-Seats.
Next take the time to go Seek-Out all the Magazine Reviews and see what they have to say regarding the Carbon-Seats.

Also after owners immediately found out they were going to put so much Wear on the Lower-Side-Bolsters.
So not only do the seats cost $5,900.00 dollars US.
On top of that add another $599.00 dollars US plus shipping cost.
Now you have an investment of $6,500.00 approximately or more as there will be Shipping cost from Suncoast for those covers.

CaptainFin,
Just keep something in mind regarding the GT4 and Porsche marketing it.
It's marketed as a Track-Machine not really a street Porsche.
And almost and I did say almost every video you will see and I have already seen on YouTube videos those GT4s have the Carbon-Seats.
Because Porsche is pushing those seats and those Press GT4s are like I said all with the Carbon-Seats.
Same goes for the Magazine Reviews and the GT4s those reviewers drove.
Another example buddy the Spyder under options one can Choose between the Cup 2 tires or the Summer Performance Tires.
Porsche does Not give the GT4 owners that choice and like I said if we think about it more than likely it's simply because the GT4 is Marketed as a WHAT ??
A Racing-Track oriented machine ..........

Like I said in the beginning of this post I'm taking it with your ultra low posts and just joining RL in May 2021 you would like to get comments from those that Have and those that Do-Not.
Now, you know the other side of the Carbon-Seats and if for 1-second you don't believe me go check it out for yourself.

I should mention also that the reason I did the Months on months on months and months and so on researching the Carbon-Seats is because I wanted them for their looks.
Once I found out that if your not a small frame and not taller than say 5'9" to 6' and not a Big-Bodied and carrying a lot of weight you better PASS !!!

If your GT4 is just actually a Guy-Toy that you only occasionally will drive then you probably could easily endure the Carbon-seats.

Good-Luck with your Final-Choice.

LWBS in mine. Have to sit in some for more a few minutes to be sure. Nothing would suck more than uncomfortable seats. The LWBS fit me great, and I’ve been in them for consecutive fill-ups, so all day basically. Getting in/out isn’t all that dramatic. I think people nit pick at crap, just for the sake of nit picking.

Get the Crazy Eddie Bolster Protectors before your car arrives.

The LWBS are expensive and imho worth every penny. Definitely sit in some before deciding.

My Spyder is not a track toy and it is the only car I own, I have LWBS and would buy them again in a heartbeat, one of the most supportive and comfortable seats I have ever had in a vehicle, but the choice is for the OP to decide not me... or anyone else here on RL.

DDing my 3RS with LWBs, Porsches are made to be driven.

To improve my experience on the LWBs, I have P1Designs seat inserts with memory foam and Recliner brackets.

I have the P1 memory foam inserts and they look great, still do not have the car but I think they will be comfortable.

I have the LWBS in my GT4 and after a small adjustment (seat recliners and foam) I love them. Two weeks ago my wife and I drove 1300 miles in 3 days and we both were comfortable the whole trip. Getting in and out doesn’t look gracious but it’s not an issue for me. I’m 41, 6,2, 180 lbs and athletic. Using the GT4 as a daily depends on traffic and road conditions in your area. The biggest issue for me is the front splitter when I drive my GT4 to stores. Some inclines on the driveways are just to steep even at an angle.
I definitely could daily my GT4 with LWBS but I would need another car for certain tasks.

Just so you know, racers with a Porsche race car won’t have LWBS in them. No one races with LWBS seats.

It has nothing to do with the seats and everything to do with body shape. I’ve done 600 mile days I’m LWBS and couldn’t do 90 minutes in my 4ways or 18 ways. When I go back to back, the LWBS are more comfortable than 18 ways for me.
