GTS 4.0 Door sill in carbon question
Good evening to all! I recently took delivery (in Atlanta) of a Guards Red Cayman GTS 4.0. I love the car and couldn't be happier. Funny story though: Well, after my wife got out of track GTS 4.0 car, she quickly noticed that one had illuminated carbon fiber door sills and she asked why I missed that option! Lovely. Well, I agree, I missed it somehow and now I really would like to add it as it ties in well with the interior. Looking at Suncoast, they offer the illuminated version and non; about $300 difference between the two plus installation will be much more for wiring. To see the prices and look overall, I went to the Porsche configurator and noticed on the GTS, only the illuminated is offered. When I checked the base Cayman, both illuminated and non are offered. Why do you think Porsche would not offer the non-illuminated on the GTS? I am leaning towards illuminated because it is nicer and 'truer' in terms of options available. Your thoughts? Separately, if anyone has any questions about PCNA delivery or the GTS itself, please ask. As always, thanks for your input and thoughts...

Congratulations on your GTS. Since you're seeking opinions, I'm not a fan of either option in a performance oriented sports car. I think it looks a little more at home in a 911 or a luxury car/SUV.

Illuminated is nice but it’s hard to think it’s worth the price. You’ll only only see it when the door is open.
For the record, I paid Porsche $1200 for this option because my wife liked it too. Cool? Kinda. Worth the money, eh

I have them as well and to be honest, I barely notice them anymore. They do look cool, but if I ordered another car I don't think I'd add them next time. Maybe I'd miss them being gone, don't know.
