Porsche - Build Tracking "Behind the Scenes"
So I was talking to Jerry in another thread about a build notification he got for his 4.0 Boxster. I have a Cayman coming that starts construction this month and wondered why I didn't get any similar notification. Here's the reply from Porsche Canada, so they're rolling their new system out. Jerry's notification was nice, told him is car was built etc. For those interested in tracking their build this is good news, and it sounds like the Cayman will come later. I am not sure on the GT4 and Spyder status of this program, but if you've got one on order you should check with Porsche or your dealer. Also note the email implies build photos which I think is a lot of fun.

Thank you for contacting Porsche Cars Canada Ltd. with your concern. Congratulations on the purchase of your new 2021 Porsche 718 Cayman GT4. I sincerely regret that you were not sent a link to view the production stages of your vehicle and welcome the opportunity to be of assistance to you.
Please note, our "Behind The Scenes" program comprises 4 milestones of the production process of a Porsche vehicle. It is being rolled out in phases. The first phase included only Porsche 911s. At present, we have added Porsche 718 Boxster vehicles which is why your friend received the tracking in his My Porsche portal. All other models will be rolled out at a later date.
As your production date is February 20, 2021, we are unable to confirm that your vehicle's production will be accessible on your My Porsche portal. However, we will contact our production headquarters in Germany to request for the production photos of your vehicle (if available) and forward them to you. Our expectation is that when you receive your vehicle, the delight will far outweigh the disappointment at not being able to view its production.
I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and frustration.
Thank you again for reaching out to Porsche Cars Canada Ltd. Please contact me with any further questions or concerns.
Have a great day and Happy Motoring!

I signed the paperwork on my GT4 on 1/21. I have the build number but have not received anything from Porsche in the portal or via email. Not really sure how long this takes? I was told to expect the car in May 2021.

Aren't Caymans built largely on the same line as Boxsters? I would have thought that whatever they are doing to deliver this service at one plant/line would easily be usable for the other model. Not questioning your information - just baffled by how Porsche approached this.

The SA told me that I would receive an email from Porsche with links to track the vehicle, I thought I would have received something by now. The SA asked me to let him know how Porsche contacted me because they (dealer) often do not know what Porsche is doing.

I think this is Canada only, I don't think the US cars have been added. I know I didn't get any links but mine was ordered in October and build in December. (and still sitting in the port waiting for transport)....

Looks like Track Your Dream (TYD) is finally expanding beyond the 911.
You can read the 911 frustrations over in the 992 forum on this application.
Best is still to get screenshots from your SA.

@Z06jerry For me a March delivery wouldn't be that important. Although the roads in E. Ont will probably be dry at the tail end of winter there will still be a lot of sand/salt. My SA had offered to store it if my car was delivered when the conditions were still not good. I expect that the driving season for you will start earlier on S. Ont and you could be driving in late March / early April.
@mjw930 From this thread it does seem that this notification option may be a Canadian specific based on the three examples - albeit small sample size. Maybe Canada is a test before wider roll out as it would seem to be a large effort for a small market. I did note a grammatical error in the first notification I received. Or maybe it is because we are all so nice in Canada - other than those in TO.
