Default Dealer ADM's on used Spyders?

Quick one for the collective. I'm in the market to pick up a 718 Spyder, have looked at a bunch but have a question for the group. Seems like I can source a new Spyder at MSRP no problem, but I have found 3 or 4 used Spyders that dealers are sticking mark ups on. Wondering the logic here, one of the dealers I talked to said "well we have already used up our allocations so this is all we are getting" however he had a new one he would sell me at MSRP. Apologies for the ignorance, have played the Porsche ADM game a bunch w/ my GT3RS and GT2RS but I don't get this one at all......

Yup, it doesn't add up, unless the new one is an orphan in some ghastly colour combo.

Agreed, only thing I can surmise is the PDK cars seem to be sitting and these were both 6-speeds. Thought I'd ask.

Are they Porsche Approved Certified with an extended warranty maybe? That might justify some price premium for some buyers.

The new and used car markets are crazy right now - lots of demand and low supply. Look at Toyota Tacomas right now. Many used Tacomas are advertised for sale asking over original MSRP. You could probably get a brand new 2021 Tacoma cheaper than a lightly used 2020 or 2019 one - IF you can find a new one available...

In my experience, some dealers have a policy of not selling new cars for more than MSRP. Used cars they will sell at market price. Of course that's not specific to the dealer you are asking about so it may or may not be the correct answer in your case.

I think the "logic" here (from the dealers POV) is "there is one born every minute"...

I'd go buy a new one @ MSRP

Supply/demand. They seem to think there is less of the former and more of the latter. Who knows. They'll find out soon enough.

It's not unheard of. Some 2016 GT3 Tourings are going for over sticker on the used market right now.

"Additional Dealer Markup"

Some dealers will call it a Market Adjustment fee.

More funny dealer used car stories vs. New car. Saw Cherry picked up that awesome PTS signal yellow car (which I know you could get for MSRP) in the meantime, I talked w/ two dealers who had 1. a used 2020 and 2. new 2021 and the used spyders are 10K plus over MSRP while the new ones are out the door at MSRP. Color different, options different, all that for sure, but interesting how much mark up dealers are sticking on the used 20's coming in the door right now.

Selling new at MSRP equals a punched sale and a counter.

Keeping used at above MSRP is smart money...in the not too distant future if you want a 718 GT car they will all be used. Money in the bank!

I saw this one at my dealer used with 2500 miles for over original MSRP but it is CPO so maybe it makes sense?
