The Soul valved rear section is SS but it does sound very close to JCR's exhaust. I'm having a warm time deciding which one to get. JCR is what the heart wants but wallet says SOUL lol.
From what I gather from this thread (thank you all for the feedback), my ideal setup might be the JCR valved non-silenced with OEM GPF and no valve controller. The valves still close automatically under 4k rpm? If that's the case that might dumb down the downshifting sounds and will need a valve controller. The only time drone will annoy me is on the highway.
Which gives a cleaner high pitch sound? the silenced or non-silenced valved race pipe?

Regarding the valve controller, remember the Cargraphic 2-mode has 2 settings and one of which is completely OEM operation, like the controller is not even there, the second is valves open all of the time, for me it provides the choice to have what I want and when I want it.

Like others have said, the valve controller seems to be a must-have for this car. No matter what rear section you get, you will always have closed valves at low RPM while driving. However, the JCR videos are mostly of cars using OEM valve programming and it still sounds good, so it might be worth holding off on the valve controller until after you install a new rear section to see if you think you still need it. That's what I plan on doing.
I have a feeling I'm going to end up biting the bullet and splurging on the JCR silenced exhaust with the OEM GPFs. There doesn't seem to be anything else on the market (yet) that sounds as good to my ears, at least based on videos.

The cost is relative to all aspects of the system, design and development, materials and difficulty to manufacture (hand made in limited quantities), include all 3 in the mix and the price goes up accordingly. Here in Canada we have the added bonus of a weak currency in most international transactions, and right now especially the British Pound which puts us at a disadvantage when considering the JCR products.
Don't get me wrong, this price point is not for everyone and the SS systems have their place and the advantage of lower cost however...
Personally I did not want a stainless steel system if I were moving away from the OEM parts, I figured that if I am changing out some of the exhaust system it will have to check the boxes in sound, lightweight construction and quality or for my I wouldn't bother. As you have probably figured by now I have the JCR Silenced Valved Race Pipe and Akra link-pipes and the sound is incredible, it is all Titanium and is a work of art...![Wink](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/wink.gif)

Curious why you think the Soul exhaust sounds similar to the JCR? Have you heard it in person? Unfortunately, I haven't heard anything in person yet, but based on videos, the JCR exhaust is very unique sounding. Soul and Fabspeed sound similar to me and are more bassy and don't have that higher pitched "scream" up top like the JCR. I love the sound of the JCR valved silenced rear section, it has a classy, smooth, exotic sound to it. The non-silenced version is more raspy which I don't like, but that's just my preference.

I'm in Canada as well (Ontario) and yeah, the exchange rate is a deal-breaker for anything sourced from Europe.
Do you mind saying how much it cost you in CAD for the JCR exhaust after exchange/shipping/taxes/duty? I estimated it would be about $8k CAD by the time it got to me for the JCR silenced. If you would prefer not to say, no worries.

This is the video I was referring to that has a similar (closest) sound to the JCR. I agree with you on fabspeed, theirs are bassy and not much high pitch which is why i'm not a fan either.

Thank you for sharing! We put a lot of work into our Valved Exhaust to shoot for a higher pitched, race inspired tone more akin to the 981 GT4. We're controlling sound with several different components (bespoke muffler, two x-pipes, carefully selected tubing length) to achieve the mark.

Is this video with Soul exhaust only and OEM GPF? Thanks

So I think you are right, the Soul sound is similar with the valves open all the time, however, I think the difference is that JCR sounds good even with the stock valve programming. Somehow they make exhaust sound quieter and still have a nice tone when the exhaust valves are closed, which helps with the lack of tone when the stock programming closes the valves. With the Soul rear section, the valve controller to override the stock programming seems like more of a necessity. But for half the cost and if titanium isn't important to you, it certainly is an option to seriously consider.

Hi, I'm also looking for a new exhaust like many of you for my car. How long have you had the Cargraphic? Do you have axel link pipes as well? How loud is it? I think I saw in another post you may be selling; is that correct? If so, I'd be interested.

We worked hard on tuning the whole experience and to work in harmony with the stock valve control. Nice to hear you appreciate and have noticed the work we put in to the valves closed side of things, that was much of the challenge in developing this rear silencer replacement
