Although true in some case, I find that more scrapes happen behind the front lip at the under panel with the dimpled surface...

I've even pulled forward too far into a parking curb that was too tall (3 times!) - with absolutely 0 damage to the splitter.

I wouldn't worry about it
For this I installed a front parking camera...

So has anyone tried sanding the splitter? If so, what grit did you use?

I have removed some small scrapes in the past but not gouges! You can try some 50-60 first finish with some fine stuff, like a 120. But you have to experiment to see what works best....I do not think you have to worry about making it worse!

HAHA , love it.

Same here. What I like about it is that when you accidentally go forward too far with a cement block in a parking lot. The plastic piece just bends and gives, not crunch or damage.

I curbed one of my wheels too recently, just a minor 1/2 inch but those I hate doing. Not worth the expense to fix.

I'd razor blade those burrs off and call it good. sandpaper is going to discolor a large area. you could sand it though and then use something like a SEM black spraybomb to make it black again though.

Went to test drive a surprise arrival Spyder at a local dealership in June 2020. The salesman pulled the car out of a holding bay used for delivery purposes and scraped the sh*t out of the front lip. Gasp!!

Try them out, and it will give you an idea of what they can do, and that will help you determine what to get. Or just get a pack that has multiple sizes. And if there are chunks you can trim them off before sanding.

Its much more therapeutic to buy another one from the dealer, keep it in the garage and just scrape your current one till it is paper thin and then replace it.

What did you end up using for your front camera and how did you integrate it?

Here is how I added a little more than just the front camera to my 718, really it started with wanting a camera!

KAP ROiK-MIB2 for Full Android on PCM 4 - Rennlist - Porsche Discussion Forums

there are other modules available for only adding the camera and those that also add Android Auto and Car Plat

Porsche 982 718 991 911carplay Box Rear Camera Bluetooth Tv - AliExpress

For Porsche Parking Assistant Front & Bakcup Rear Camera Interface Reverse Improve For Panamera 718 Cayenne Macan 982 - Vehicle Camera - AliExpress

HTH, if you have questions, perhaps go to my thread and we won't hijack this one!

I just use drywall sanding sponges from Home Depot any time I see burs like that. Works like a charm.
