I remember a Porsche commercial from the 997 era where a mom dropped her kids off to school in a yellow 911 Turbo. I believe the choice of yellow was intentional for this scene.

Signal Yellow has the one quality that makes a color truly an epic color. It looks great in every lighting situation. It doesn't wash out in bright sunlight, it doesn't disappear or mute in the shade, and it doesn't look harsh under fluorescents. It is just gorgeous all of the time.
