I also like the feel of Alcantara, just worried about the long term durability. I'll try the cleaning route, but if it gets really bad, I'll spend the money on the custom leather deviated and marked steering wheel.

I have never had a problem keeping the Alcantara in perfect condition, my recommended product is Sonax cleaner and their brush for surface care. SONAX Alcantara & Upholstery Cleaner 250 ml » SONAX Canada

This.....you do have to clean it often and use the brush. The one on my 981 gt4 looked almost new when it was time to sell after almost 5 years.

Unfortunately, if you switch to leather steering wheel and shifter and want deviated stitching, the $1500 package doesn’t cover everything. You need the $3300 extended deviated stitching package. I wanted chalk stitching which isn’t an option on the $1500 package (only silver, red and yellow is).

I am wondering about the deviated stitching options as well, for the Racing Yellow Spider I have on order. Does someone know if "Spyder" is done in Yellow with both packages? The configurator changes the Spyder logo on the seat and the door pulls from Yellow to Black with the more expensive Extended Deviated package, which does not seem right. I would think that in the more expensive package one gets everything in the cheaper package but just more. And it also changes the seats from Black/Yellow to Black - very confusing.
I didn’t select extended deviated, only the standard yellow deviated $2160+1500. Every leather option came deviated to match. Eg. only selected the cheaper leather steering case — but it came deviated.
My seat Spyder and pulls are yellow.

Bob, I have almost every alcantara/leather option with the yellow deviated in the book. Lots of pictures in the yellow thread.
