Standard interior?

Had leather interior on my 981 GT4 and went standard interior on my GT3RS.
Feel like the standard interior fits the GT moniker better... However, like previous poster mentioned I’d go leather on Spyder.

When I was in the market for my GT3 I was looking for standard interior, a car with leather interior and red stitching popped up 1 mile from my apartment and ended up buying it. Today I am very happy that it was already specced that way and would not do it any other way for a car with $100k sticker.
If it was a purely track car (drive to and from the track too) then maybe I'd take the standard interior.
In terms of weight difference, back in the day the track crew I was running with in Florida had mentioned something between 8-10 lbs difference between standard interior vs leather. So very negligible.

Me personally, would never get the standard interior in one of these. My inbound Spyder is full w/deviated...
However, who cares what RL says? Recommend you hop down to your dealer and look at leather vs standard. Car doesn’t need to be a 4.0 or even 718...can be 911 or macan.

I also flipping the coin between the standard interior over the deviated stitching. It is an 6k option for the GTS but I kind of like how's it transform the interior. However, such an expensive package will have no resale value and heard that the leather dash will cause more glare on the windshield and will more easy to crack in the future than the standard plastic dash. Also will the red gauge hard to read when compare to the black gauge?

If you track the car and have to leave windows open, standard is great, when it rains in particular.
If your car is a “weekend & restaurant“ toy, leather is better
I had standard in my 991.1GT3 and would do it again for a track car.

Never owned but driven a GT4 with it. Nothing wrong with it at all. Full leather is purely cosmetic and leather probably doesn't wear as well. You can get silver belts to match the door pulls.
If you're looking for a low optioned car, leather interior would be the first to go IMHO.

I had the standard interior on my 981S and I like it just fine—it was easy to clean and looked just as good after three years as it did on day 1.
For my GT4 order, I also chose standard interior. It's not a cost thing, or because I dislike leather, actually, but because of the increased amount of Alcantara/Race-tex. It's a personal choice and I don't like the mottled look of it. Getting the full leather interior for the GT4 puts much more Alcantara/Race-tex on the doors and in the lower dash areas. Some folks prefer this. If I could, I'd actually go with full cloth seats and standard dash and door materials, exactly like a GTI. It's just what I like. I plan on swapping the Alcantara/Race-tex seat inserts for cloth Sport-tex inserts at some point as well.
I think the majority of folks on the forum buying GT3s and GT4s are doing so as street-oriented cars, and as such, prefer it with a more premium interior, and prefer leather. If that impacts your thoughts on resale, then I believe you would dramatically increase your pool of potential buyers by adding it.
