New Member / New GTS 4.0 Build
Hi all - new Rennlist member from Texas. Previous owner of a 2000 996 and a 2013 991 - just placed my order for a Boxster GTS 4.0 in GT Silver (December build).
Config: Premium Package, Red roof, Black/bordeaux interior, gauges & chrono in white, 14-way ventilated seats, Roll bars in exterior color, Model designation delete, GTS 4.0 sticker delete, brushed aluminum trim.
Got the spec pretty much nailed down other than the wheel choice - see below. Opinions welcome...

My vote is for the bottom set of wheels (the Carrera sport wheels, I believe). I had them on my 2018 Boxster GTS and loved them; they look special. Also, regarding the interior, you said you spec'd brushed aluminum trim -- I hope you mean the black brushed aluminum trim.

Despite the popularity of black wheels, I can't get with it.
You've got a nice build, I'd take wheel choice number 2, but I'm not paying the bill.

Love GT Silver with the standard black wheels in picture 1.
Have you sat in the 14 way seats for an extended period of time? I don’t like them because they pinch my shoulders together at the top. I had a 991.1 with them and didn’t notice it but do very much in the 718.

Both look good but I’d go for standard silver wheels with that silver/red theme. Maybe post your build code to see how the interior bits tie in.

I had the 14-way in my 991 and was pretty comfortable, FWIW. I was considering the 18-way but I'm not in love with the silver plastic backs (particularly with the GT silver paint); by the time you add the seats and the leather it's about $2,500 worth of upgrades. I might be overthinking the plastic backs but they seem particularly visible in the Boxster.

Thanks - yeah, I don't love the all-black wheels (especially on a lighter color paint) - feels like they disappear completely. Silver wheels feels like an insufficient contrast and a slight clash of hues, and I can't make my mind up on platinum, hence the Carrera Sport, which have something of a classic Fuchs vibe to them and the polished edges that help define the wheels a little.
