Default 718 spyder torsional noises

Hello

Not a big issue ....but my 718 Spyder which is relatively rattle free when normally driving at the moment (2 days on track and 3500 km on the clock) developed some “settlement” torsional noises from the rear when going down the slope in the garage and then slowly, obliquely landing on the flat surface....I obviously go down in that way to save the front end which scrapes the floor if I go down straight.

Interestingly the noises only come when the roof is closed...if the soft top is folded under the rear trunk the “landing” in the underground garage is quite silent...so I think the noise could be from some play in the roof or in the trunk leverages.

My old 981 Boxster GTS didn’t make such noises in the same situation but it was very different in the rear and I also think it had a slightly softer sway bar (despite being X73 equipped...great car it was!).

Question is...does anybody else feel noises under chassis torsions?

Or does everybody park on a flat surface without equilibrisms ? : )

Could be the roof weather-stripping rubbing against the windows as the chassis twists a little. Just a guess... Try it with the windows down. If so, applying some powder on the stripping helps.

Windows down, roof down and not all of the time but making transitions from uneven surfaces I hear what I believe to be suspension noise, like a 'strum' on an aluminum part... a little concerning!

Is this front or rear ?

What I feel seems chassis torsion but it shouldn’t be as in top down there’s not noise when approaching the garage’s slope

If it’s like a spring noise I had it identical on my Gt3 and it’s normals...it’s the spring twisting in the damper assembly

yes, if it's a "clang" type suspension sound, all gt3's do it.

Sure, that might be the sound...

My GT4 makes these noises, sometimes long after I've parked it in the garage. Definitely sounds like springs resettling.

I have experienced some squeaks when existing garage and on uneven surfaces (not terrible) only with the roof up as well. I think some noise did go away with the windows down. Imma gonna try to apply powder to the strips as suggested by a post and will report back with some results.

Swaybars can be noisy sometimes too (but only if you are taking driveway at an angle - dissimilar loads on left and right sides).

Even when you go to carbon chassis cars, you hear annoying flexy noises... so many joints and attachment points in a car.. it's hard not to have any. Rev the engine and block them out.

All GT suspensions can squeak. You'll get a bong noise now and then too..
