I thought all these colors that were on the wall at PECLA were available as PTS colors but actually they are colors from past builds and almost all require that if selected - would require an additional $12,000 over the $12,000 for a standard PTS color.
the only paints available under the $12,000 charge for PTS are the ones shown for each model in the configurator. I ordered a sapphire blue metallic Panamera and would have liked that same color on a 991/992 T I have coming from my dealer in the Spring but not in the PTS color list for this model.

Not from my experience -- all the blue colors I liked from the sample little cars on the PECLA wall were not standard PTS colors. Turned out they were all PTS+ colors.
Pecla should have all the standard PTS colors separated from the other colors that are now PTS+. It might be true that before Porsche added all the available PTS colors to the configurator for each model that any of these colors on the wall were available for the regular PTS upcharge. But now that they have the PTS colors, they allow for each model displayed in the configurator, any color not on the configurator list becomes a PTS+ color. Which doubles the cost from $12,000 to around $24,000.

Has anybody (or their cleaning ladies) heard any updates or rumors on whether there's any chance of PTS availability coming back for MY23? Most of the last updates I found on here from last year were saying "nothing more for all of MY23 (and maybe beyond)" but with a few saying "slight chance it comes back for orders locking in April and beyond".
I've found a very lightly used CPO car in my second-choice PTS color, with very nearly the exact spec I'd want (and all of my "must-haves"), so I feel like I should jump on that, rather than holding out for a slim chance of an allocation and an even slimmer chance of PTS. Of course, I sure would feel silly in the extremely unlikely event that my dealer calls me back with a PTS allocation a week after I pull the trigger on another car, but that seems to be in roughly the same probability strata as winning the PCA GT4 RS raffle...

If you buy the used car right -- the cost to resell it won't be too much (except for taxes). then place an order for a 992.2 of whichever model you like as you would like it - and tell the dealer you will have the used car as a trade-in -- assuming they give you a decent price for the used Porsche. Ask if they would commit to an MSRP deal. On a 911 base, S or possibly even a GTS they should agree to an MSRP deal. The trade-in will be dependent on what price they offer you for the used car when the new car arrives.
IT is a gamble but it is still fun to have a car coming someday -- and the latest generation car besides.
And your building a relationship with the dealer- they like guys that trade cars in on a new order-- gives them something else to sell.
Just a thought-- then you have a car now and the future prospect of getting exactly the car you want and the latest and greatest generation as well.
IF the economy comes back and interest rates decline in a year or so -- you could make a profit on the used car -- or lose some money. And you can always turn down the deal when it is offered.
By the way-- in CAlifronia a cash deposit has to be refunded even after the car is built or on the showroom floor.

Your second PTS choice with the options you want and require is a sign from whatever Porsche god you believe in. The odds of that are pretty small. If you change your mind, assuming you don’t drive 12k miles/year or the Fed doesn’t implode, you’ll be OK financially.
