Default 718 spyder info please

Hi I've just ordered a 718 spyder which is due in December. My issue is I have a bit of a hump at the start of my drive off the road. At present I have an RS5 which clears it by an inch. I can't see the spyder getting over it without dragging so need to fix the issue. I've managed to find the ground clearance the wheel base and the car length but can't find a dimension from the front wheel to the front lip. I'm also looking for the height of the front lip from the floor. I don't want to wait until the car turns up to find I need to leave it on the road. At present I have 5 months to get the issue sorted. If anyone that has a spyder could help me out by putting a tape on it I would be very much in your debt. To be honest the main dealers weren't much help and that's being nice to them. Thanks in advance.

Angle it when you approach your drive way. Think outside of the box.

There is a thread with angles, measurements, etc. in this forum, I just don't remember which one it is but it has what you are asking for.

I wish it was that easy the hump is between the gate posts so it's a straight entry or a scrap up the side.

I did search first before posting but couldn't find anything. I'll have another look though. Thanks

You could also try raising the car on the coilovers (will require an alignment). That may be a simple and safe solution.

I need to re do my drive anyway as I'm coming to the end of an extension. Iv'e just found the other thread that says 112mm from the centre of the front splitter to the floor. I just need the distance from where the wheel touches the road to the front of the splitter and I can make a jug up to push over the drive. Why can't I get this direct from porsche.

Here is the thread I was thinking of:

and

Also see threads (page referenced):

On page 6 "Nose lift"
On page 7 "Techart Axle Lift system"
On page 9 "ground clearance"

Hope this gives you all the info you need!! The front lip is actually 5.25" at the lowest point, not 5.5", as I had previously stated. The lip curls over at the bottom. One may actually think it was designed this way to absorb hits (?). The dimension I believe you requested is 40.5". I believe the math gives you an approach angle of roughly 7 degrees.

Thanks for posting this. That’s more clearance than I expected. Pleasantly surprised.

Brilliant. Thank you all so much. you've managed to answer all my issues in one day. Who needs a main dealer when we have each other. Time to start digging my drive up then. Lol

Maybe wait until you have the car and you can measure the angle of attack?
Or ask your local dealer for a brief test drive in a GT RS car. The 718/982 won't be lower than that.

Great work and pictures! Love the floor too, what is it, any links to the actual material?
