The manual specifies C40 oil - so use C40 oil.
I have a strong feeling that A40 oil is also going to be just fine as well.

For C40 available in the US (Motul 8100 X-clean Gen2):
Amazon:
Amazon Amazon

Pelican Parts:
(1L) - https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/109761.htm
(5L) - https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/109762.htm

Liqui Moly 4110 Top Tec:
Pelican Parts:
(5L) - https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_In...pn=22122-M1458

I just ordered 1L from Amazon because my sensor is telling me I'm at the minimum oil level and need to top up.

C40 oil, makes sense to me as it is written in the manual...

So oil consumption to the point that you need to top up, can I ask how many miles on the car now, mine has just over 2100 miles and is one bar above the minimum now.... soon it will need oil as well.

I think it popped up at just over 4000mi (I'm at almost 4100 now) and it's still there.
Now that I'm thinking about it - should have ordered 2x1L but oh well....

Great timing, I was just at the dealer this afternoon, they had nothing to give me... there is one bar left before the car complains about low oil level...

Pretty extraordinary that dealers are pushing out luxury cars without top up oil available !

Call your local Chevy dealer and see if they have any in stock. I swear that is what I used in my ZL1 1LE and my Chevy dealer always had it in stock. I have two cases of it sitting in my garage, I’ll have to check tomorrow and see if it is the same, but I’m 99.99% sure it is.

Edit: Sorry, never mind, read more of the thread and looks as though it may be different. @Mercuriell dealers oil/pic is what I have though, Mobile 1 Dexos 2 0W-40.

Looks like it has to be ESP "X3" 0W-40 since its mentions on Mobils website that it's C40 approved. Regular doesn't mention c40

Mobil 1™ ESP X3 0W-40

So can Mobil 1 “Dexos 2” be both A40 and C40? This is very confusing.

Doesn't look like it to be honest according to Mobil's website doesn't even mention A40 nor C40. It's looks like it's built more for chevy/GM cars

In both of your links under approved oils it has Dexos 2 listed. The X3 oil says Dexos 2 along with Porsche C40 and MB etc. If the bottle says Dexos 2 would that not mean it is approved then for Porsche’s C40 requirement? What I’m confused by is that I can’t imagine one bottle labeled Dexos 2 is only approved for A40 spec and than another is approved for C40 spec. I’m sure I’m missing something, insomnia is a wonderful thing.

From the links given above Mobil 1 ESP and ESP X3 are both Dexos 2 compatible but only X3 is C40 approved - it is strange as I have seen it stated that C40 oil is not backwards compatible with A40 🤯

I would think Mobil1 needs to differentiate their packaging much better than to avoid this confusion.

So here is my oil. It doesn't say on the back what it is certified to, but my guess is the A40 spec. It is extremely poor of Mobil1 to say the least, to have two identically labeled products on the front of the bottle that meet two different specs. Sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, rant over.
