I just did the EXACT same thing and almost the same build on my Spyder. 991.2 RS is being picked up tomorrow. No one wants to go in the RS with buckets and i don't track it like i did my 997 GT3. Will see how the 992 GT looks in a few years and decide then if i want to get back into one. RS is amazing though i am sure i will miss it.

I also sold my RS. However, I’m keeping my manual GT3 to go with my 718 Spyder.

Thats a terrific explanation and is appreciated. I would not be surprised if you are spot on about keeping the Spyder and then also getting another track focussed car. I'm down for a GT4RS as and when it comes out. That may just tip me into having 2 sports cars in the garage. My better half has agreed to drive the Spyder a lot more than the RS... and that was ZERO times!

Have we all been drinking the same tonic?

Yikes, mine goes tomorrow as well. I will miss it as well of course. Maybe we start a therapy group... "my name is ___ and I used to own a 991.2 GT3RS " Then again, the king is dead, long live open air madness"

Did you spec your Spyder with buckets? For me the buckets are ok as I'm a small framed guy but they certainly aren't fun for the passenger. As you know, there's been a lot of debate about the Spyder "must have buckets". My car is spec'd with 18 ways and I won't be tracking this car. I'll will be using it mainly for winding country road driving where I live. I guess because of the sofas the car is already worthless!

Buckets (if they fit) are optimal for winding backroads. They're too much for the street (traffic) and not enough for the track (no halo/head protection).

Hi Dr1Ven,

I absolutely agree with you about the RS and Spyder combo. I have found the to be completely different even though both are manual.

I specified the 18 way, heated for the buttons. i am not convinced Sofas will affect resale in this car. there will always be someone who wants the comfort

Andrew, I too was ify about the 18 ways... no issue after picking it up today. OMG, after having buckets in the last 4 GT cars I had forgotten how good the "sofas" are. I drove windy roads the 160 miles home and I love the seats, and the car! All I can tell you is screw the resale, you're going to love this car! I'm putting together another thread where I'll post a few pics and share my initial thoughts about the car... especially jumping from an RS to a Spyder.
