718 GTS 4.0 limited for 2021
Went to see my dealer this afternoon to make a change to my 718 CGTS 4.0 build spec. He mentioned that he had just learned that the GTS 4.0 allocations will be relatively meager for 2021 with more emphasis on the GT4 and the S/Base models. His exact words were, "this will be a rare car for 2021". Has anyone heard anything similar or different? Might affect those looking to snag a build slot.

Latest rumour is that Porsche wants to build as many cars as possible.
With the GTS being popular and a new model debut, it would be very foolish not to build as many as they can.
It’s important to note that this cars production for North America is not until late in this year, so that might be why it may be initially “limited” for 2021.
I can only foresee stalls in production happen if wave 2 of COVID-19 hits harder than predicted. This is, of course, assuming current protocols are not heeded by the German public.
Each and every manufacturer of vehicles is seeking a profound production increase to help stem the cash hemorrhage that was a global lockdown.
Parts suppliers themselves are having an extremely tough time to meet demand.
I have some first hand knowledge of certain Japanese manufactures airfreighting in high demand motorcycles as this is their prime window for their yearly sales.
in short: everyone is scrambling to pump out what is seen as a year of sale losses.
current delays are due to parts suppliers being particularly hit hard and not necessarily vehicle manufacturers.

I doubt that anyone will have trouble buying one if they want one.

I suspect lots of GTS allocations will be available, at a fair discount, for those with a bit of patience.

Yup, my dealer called me the other day to say they finally got their allocation and I'm the only 1 for this year. 1 GTS, thats it. November build likely Jan delivery. I'm glad I was so quick out the gate after seeing the Estoril reviews in January and negotiated the allocation in to me trading them my 15 981S.
He was saying he has several openings for the T version

Too funny. SA's playing the 'rare car' game already. The GTS will not be difficult to get next year. This is just dealers trying to create artificial urgency on the part of potential buyers. Sure, it might be limited this year, it was just released. Next year is another story. And dealers don't even know their allocations for next year, so I'm not sure how they can claim they know how limited it will be.
