Good to know. I'm putting out feelers soon, but I have no established relationship with any Porsche dealerships (this would be my first).

It does help to have purchased from the dealer previously, but I think right now the build slots are so limited there won't be much savings off of MSRP. Good luck!

That's what I figured; we'll see how it goes. Thanks!

Did you ask your dealer about the torque in a PDK GTS 4.0? There was some suggestion last week, that the PDK cars might get a bit more torque than the manuals, (because the manual gearbox is limited by the manufacturer to just 309). The Porsche website briefly stated the PDK versions might get 317 torque though no one has been able to confirm that just yet.

Great point. I'll be seeing my dealer tomorrow. Will make sure to ask. Thanks.

Why did you get 14-ways? Found them to be less supportive than either of the sport plus seats.

Funny you would mention that. That was an error in my original post. I changed them to 18 way sport plus.

Did you get tired of the yellow? Yellow is on my list for 718 GT4.

There was never a day that I regretted or got tired of yellow. In fact, I had a 987 CS before my current 981 CS... and both were yellow. I woke up to yellow car for over 8 years. Actually, I love the Miami Blue I'm ordering, but I will miss the yellow. Yellow is a head-turner and its hard to feel bad in such a vibrant color. Good luck!

Yeah, the US web site briefly (for a day or two) showed 317 lb.ft for PDK vs 309 lb.ft manual, and a weight for the PDK that was a bit heavier than manual (forgot the exact amount), but now that info is gone from the site.

Curiously, Porsche in Germany has not even publicly acknowledged the existence of PDK for these cars, let alone released any specs. In Canada, there were no PDK related press releases, but GTS 4.0 can be ordered with PDK, while GT4/Spyder don’t yet have the PDK option officially available.

I wonder if PCNA decided to jump the gun on launching PDK before Germany was ready to release details.

Congrats! Should be a great car.

I struggled with the GT4 vs GTS4.0 question for a while.
When I spec'd them, the GTS was only about $10k less as I selected more fru-fru options. I figured that a 6-figure Cayman was better off being a GT4. So now the wait begins. . .

Congrats! I struggled also. My dealer had an allocation for both the GT4 and the CGTS 4.0. I had first shot at either. I don't track the car and its hilly with bad roads in PA, so I opted for the GTS... and my build spec has alot of extras, too... MSRP about $106K.

Congrats!! I secured a build as well for 2021 Boxster GTS 4.0. My Sales guy said the official sale date for GTS in the US is Dec 4th.

Yeah, that's an interesting comparison to make. The GT4 will probably depreciate a bit less, which would neutralize much of the relatively small price difference, or maintenance delta. I think it comes down to livability and availability; plenty to think about. I know I'll be happy with either car.

I'm not sure how much sense the S makes any more, because once you add PASM/PTV/SC and a couple other necessities, it's within 4-5k (MSRP) of a similarly equipped GTS, and still lacks the flat six and many of the cosmetic upgrades. I suppose if absolute performance is the goal you may still be better served with the turbo motor (though, really, if absolute performance is the goal, you might as well save $30k and get a C8 or GT350 anyhow). I'm sure dealerships have more allocations for the S and are also more willing to discount them, but--as above--a couple grand shouldn't really be a significant factor at this price point.
