So, emotional. He cracks me up! I learned something new about the exhaust system in harmony with the cylinder deactivation. Interesting.

Janko gives 100% in these, and I spec'd the leather and Bose. Don't be mad at me Janko! I want to crank some tunes when flying down the road.

Can't wait for mine to arrive.

You can definitely tell Janko's genuine excitement during the drive. And that engine note!!

1. The cadence / delivery of Janko... I used to hate it, now I like it. The intensity and deliberate nature is unique.

2. I smell burnt clutch through my iPhone.

3. The passion is genuine. I have felt the same while behind the wheel of even a non GT car.

4. Why the Bose hatred? This is still a street car. There’s always an off button to enjoy just the engine when you want. If worried about weight then get another car. There’s plenty of faster cars out there than this.

5. using 1st gear under any circumstance beyond use to get the car going from a stop is just idiotic. There’s either a problem with the user or the car.

6. curious to hear what exhaust he is endorsing

1st gear is used in racing to accelerate as fast as possible.. so why not in gt4 for same reason ?

Yes can someone enlighten me on number 5. When I learned to drive manual, I was taught (and in In every manual sports car I owned) that 1st gear was a starting gear and you downshift cornering on a hairpin or coming to a stop. In the GT4/Spyder are you supposed to down shift the same way you would downshift from 3rd to 2nd while driving (not coming to near stop/full stop)? Have I been doing wrong all these years?

No, you learned correctly, but the gears are long in this car. From memory, 1st gear redlines at 49mph and second at 83mph. That's a lot of rev's to use before needing to up shift.

After manic kms of GT4 seat time your not driving the car properly if your not using 1 gear. DFW01TT has it right and Janko probably has more seat time than all of us collectively. The gearing range is big so you use first often especially around town and I almost always want to use it on the on ramps as first top end is 78kms and big city traffic does not move fast. Not normal but nor is a P GT car.

It does change the driving technique then. It will feel awkward downshifting into first as part of “normal driving.” I think it will take me some time to get use to, get over the mental aspect of shifting into first and reprogram my old brain

Agreed me as well but trust me you will feel the need to do it, wait till you feel 2 top end has lots of space.
