Default Anyone know the PDK and final gear ratios?

title says it all, curious to compare with 6MT 2-6 ratios and final to determine what difference there will be in the driving experience...

I wonder if it's just the PDK in the GT3 they're going to slap in.

(my $0.02)

I doubt it, much more likely to be the existing PDK box designed for the rest of the Cayman/Boxster models - fitment is different on 911 PDK sits in front of the engine, its behind on the Cayman/Boxster, and its a different engine casing etc etc ...

*maybe* they have evolved it for the RS ... perhaps deriving that from the CS ...

The configurator visualizer is currently showing the PDK-S shift ****, but without the PDK-S black stripes on the base of the shifter. The configurator also shows the "Auto Blip" button remains for PDK, and the steering wheel doesn't get any shift paddles. Obviously, this is highly suspect.
  • Is it a PDK-S or is it the same PDK in a regular 718?
  • Is it getting the PDK-S shift **** as the configurator shows, or the regular shift ****?
  • Will it get the PDK-S style stripes on the base of the shift ****, or not as the configurator is showing?
  • Will the Auto Blip button be replaced with a blank switch, a SPORT button, or something else? I can't imagine disabling rev matching on a PDK.

Can't trust the configurator. I'd ask your SA or PCNA

just to compare here is the 991.2GT3 6MT #'s:

in a GT3 you are in 4th by the time you would shift to 3rd in a GT4/Spyder!!!

should probably rerun these shifting at the top of the torque curve for both cars ...

Hi Larry - Can you redo the GT3 charts with 9,000 rpm instead of 5,000?

Thanks!

will do, my bad ... ideally it would be good to be able to shift up each car's max torque rpm ... and to the bottom end of their "max" torque, e.g on the GT4/Spyder low would be 4k high would be 6.8k (I think)

Ran the numbers for the 6-speed, PDK standard, and PDK with shorter 19" track tires. The tires are 265/35-19 and 305/30-19 and are both 26.3 inches tall vs the stock tires which are 27.0 inches tall. This further reduces the gear ratios by another 2.5%.

Speeds in gears: 1-2-3-4-5 @ 8,000 rpm

6-speed: 50 - 85 - 117 - 146 - 174

PDK-20: 45 - 78 - 108 - 137 - 164

PDK-19: 44 - 76 - 105 - 133 - 160

Those PDK numbers are starting to look pretty good and appear like the car is finally not geared too tall, especially on the 19 inch setup.
If you look at the numbers at 7,000 rpms, as in more typical street driving, then they appear even more like other cars, except we get the bonus of another 1,000 rpms up to 8K.

PDK-19 @ 7,000 rpm: 39 - 66 - 92 - 116 - 140

You can go to the website and run all the numbers you like. These may be off by a mile or two compared to Porsche's official numbers, but they are all based on the same algorithm, so are absolutely relative to each other.
Very cool website. You set your transmission parameters, hit calculate, and all the data pops right up. You can even hit the "shift and trace" button and watch the tach and speedometer needles trace the car redlining through all of the gears.

Thanks for the web info Rennolazine and Larry Cable.

Dont thank me thank google lol. That website is pretty epic. Ive been eyeballing a GT car since I had the 911T (which had the “short” gearing) but honestly even that was slightly longish for the street (99% of my driving). The pdk in the gt4 is a couple mph longer than the T but for the track the gearing felt perfect. Especially after a tune it revved to redline much faster.
Pdk ratios might actually be the sweet spot for this car and honestly i would get the manual if they were the same. But gt4 with buckets, pdk, and steel brakes looks like a reasonably priced track weapon compared to the gt3 especially for folks like me who run untimed (except for the drag strip). I bet this thing runs an 11.5s 1/4 mile with pdk wich is blazing fast for a car with “only” 420 hp.

Quick Reply: Anyone know the PDK and final gear ratios?
