I just commissioned a GR BGTS 4.0 build. Hope to make a contribution here in few months. Looks like pretty exclusive club given how "unloved" Guards Red is.
I occasionally check the numbers using listings (not particularly scientific, but generally supported by more rigorous surveys) and GR remains about 6-8% of Porsche sportscars (911 & 718). It seems that most people these days are very conservative and stick with white, black, silver and grey. Heck, I don't even call those colours. More like shades. When you look at the vast Porsche colour palette on Rennbow, its a bit depressing to see so many ho-hum coloured cars. Up with the brightness! More reds, yellows and bright blues and greens please. A few electric pink, magenta and lime/gold to liven up the scene.

My GT4 build doesn't lock until April 29th, but I'm pretty set on Guards Red!
Have a Guards Red CGTS manual coming in June, GTS interior w/Carmine, a stupid number of leather options, satin black wheels, 18-ways, Burmeister. First Porsche and I'm absolutely beside myself.
GR wasn't my first instinct, have never had a red car, but the more I thought about this model the more it felt appropriate. It feels so classic, I wanted a classic color.
Are your sun visors brown too? I'm considering a twin of your build. If you have your code, I could submit that!
Yes they are brown. I don't have the build code, but it's a Canadian car so it would be different depending upon your country.
The only things that I would change is ordering the leather steering wheel column and ordering the gear lever in brushed aluminum. The latter is free, and gives you a brown leather shifter boot instead of black.
So Thankful for this thread and excited to be part of this community! Just ordered my first Porsche! GR BGTS 4.0 and coming off an Isle of Man Green M3 stick.
I placed my order in November but the build doesn't lock till end of March so I have been going back and forth between Gentian Blue and Guards Red (silver wheels).
Appreciated all the pics with the silver wheels, it makes me want to stick to this choice.

I think your build looks great. I started out going back and forth between GB and GR, but then I saw GB in-person and found it a bit low key for a sports car. I then went to agonizing over Guards vs Carmine. I ended up with guards and I could not be happier with it. One thing I will say: I think guards is slightly out of gamut for many cameras/screens. Many pictures make it look more orange and less red than it does in person. I have never seen my car look orange in any lighting condition. The calipers also match, which is nice. Overall, I think when you see it in person you will be happy.
Thanks for the vote of confidence on the GR. And yes, i agree that any digital image gives it a hint of orange when it really doesnt have it.
You have pics of your BGTS?
Actually I think GR has a hint of orange, which often doesn't show up in pictures. Blackholescion's car in post 128 looks darker and more like Carmine to me. Obviously colour interpretation is pretty subjective.
