Interesting because I asked specifically about putting an exhaust on my incoming Spyder and the service advisor said it would void the warranty. (Canada)

Fast forward to 5:50 for the sound of the exhaust - this is aftermarket too.

I like the larger exhaust tips. The stock tips don't fill out the openings very well. Is anyone making bolt on exhaust tips? I'm hoping the U.S. cars sound ok
from the factory and all I need are better looking exhaust tips. The Schmid exhaust sounds great in that video!

Looks like cargraphic has some larger tips for sale!

^Those would work. Not excited about the price. The inner pipe exiting the muffler that the tips sleeve over would need to be painted to match
the black tips.

Hi guys. I was lucky enough to install my exhaust a few days ago. Because of our lockdown regulations it's been difficult to make some videos but hopefully that will change in a few weeks’ time. This is what I have learnt, so I thought maybe we would be lucky and our valve programming software would be different to non-EU cars but like Luke says, from “Cars with Luke,” the flaps close from about 2500rpm. They open slightly the higher the revs but never completely. So, I did a quick fix and disconnected the tubes and closed them off with screws and attached them with some quick-ties. Now I’m happy to tell, it sounds amazing! It has its own unique sound, very similar to the GT2rs, but bassier. It’s difficult to explain but different to any Porsche I’ve heard. I’m really happy now. But the car definitely needs an aftermarket exhaust with a valve control unit. I’m going to order the control unit from Schmid Motorsport as they have 2 systems, keyring and a button switch that gets installed by the cigarette lighter. This is what they look like.

Like I said, I’m going to post more videos soon but here is a taste of my system with the valve bypass. Cheers.

Good news. That sounds promising. Best I’ve heard so far I think. Has a bit of that echoey presence and some growl. It’s not 981 good (maybe as good but different in person), but it’s a firm step in the right direction. Congrats on the install.

Looking forward to hear some more clips with the engine under load and running up through the rev range, some downshift fly-bys and some acceleration fly-bys.

sorry to give you such a tasklist but I’m sure you’ll have fun while doing it!

No worries. Wish I could do them now but we have to wait. I’ve come into contact with another owner from Cape Town so we will get some good comparisons, Miami vs Black. I think the next step is OPF replacement and then the system is complete. But I almost feel that this sound is perfect and one mustn’t compare it to the 981. Their hearts are different. Let’s wait and see. Cheers.

I like this idea, different hearts, I really need to hear one in person before I change anything.

Fully agree with this.

And also fully agree that they are different hearts for sure. I’m sure the 718 4.0 has potential it’s just I haven’t heard it realized yet. It’s early though of course and nice to see folks already working diligently towards finding out what that is.

i think this may be a US spec car... other cars in the channel seem to be US cars. Could be wrong.

If you look close at the GT4 in the channel in another video, you can see a Euro Plate.

In the U.S. cars I've seen the scale on the speedometer is in MPH. Looks like this one is in KPH.
